EXCELLENT VIDEO. I'm a fairly new standard poodle mom. After a year I quickly realized her hair does not last a month without in between home grooming. I bought everything she needs and after watching the video I dried her hair all wrong. THANK YOU. She will not be bred 8r shown but I love that I a non groomer can keep her hair from matting in between grooming because of you!!! 💖

You are so kind with the dogs and very sweet. Your ear grooming video was recently posted in my standard poodle group. I am learning a lot from you after only 3 videos. Maybe my poos will transform from covid cut to beautiful poodles after a few more! Thank you!

Thank you for this! I've wanted to groom dogs since I was 4, I'm 18 now and I'm getting my first standard poodle in 3 weeks. He will be my first dog with long hair! He will be my 3rd service dog also! I've studied videos, dvds, movies, tv shows, and books about grooming for YEARS! I can't wait to groom him! In pre-k during career day, I said I wanted to be a dog groomer and everyone laughed. WHOS LAUGHING NOW HUH?!?! I WILL BE WHEN MY POODLE LOOKS BETTER THAN EVERYONE THAT LAUGHED AT ME!

Good luck! Don't let anyone put you down. I had to deal with those comments and even from my own mother who thinks it's not a real job, meanwhile I bought my own house, car, furniture etc and saved. I showed them. I opened my own storefront that was so successful and now work from home grooming only good dogs while making a good income. You can do it! You are off to a good start. Practicing on your own Poodle helps.

Thank you for a video that actually helps!! I’ve struggled with drying the hair straight so my clips are of course very rough. But this video was very helpful and I am now hopeful I can do better, finally!

Nice video! The only tip I would add is to always keep your wrist and arm straight when using the dryer hose. Too much motion with your wrist and you'll be suffering with Carple Tunnel in no time. :( Best to avoid all that altogether.

Thank you for this video. I have a miniature poodle, and I have been grooming him myself for the last year. I have wondered so many times how to get his hair straight. I have taught myself how to clip his face and head nicely, but it will look even better when I can get the hair straight. I'm going to have to save for the dryer, unless you can tell me of an alternative hv dryer that would cost less for a beginner. Thanks again, great video, great dog, and great teacher. ❤️

I just watched your video and it was very helpful. What a beautiful dog🥰. I recently purchased a high velocity dryer and I’m very excited to have it. I have a miniature golden doodle so drying her will be similar to the dog you have in video. I wonder about how long it takes to get them good and dry? Also, I’m definitely going to order some of that spray fluff product. I wonder if you recommend using a detangler or if that’s even necessary?
@LoveofGrooming3 жыл бұрын
Hi! Glad my video was helpful. If there are any mats or knots a detangler will definitely help. Towel dry really well before using the dryer to shorten the time. A lot of factors will Drying longer or shorter such as how long or short the coat is and how dense and humidity in the air.

I don't really know for sure, but if I had to wager a guess I'd say that utsumi was Japanese and it would be pronounced "oo-tsoo-me" with a long "e". The word, if it is Japanese, would be broken into the syllables "u" "tsu" "mi" . Just a little fun information I hope. Lol I can't wait to finally get my standard. They're SO cute! I'm really hoping to find an apricot.

You are probably correct, it sounds better than how I pronounced it, lol You will love a standard poodle, they are excellent to have as pets

Thank you for this video. I’m thinking of getting a dryer but I don’t know which to choose from. I have 3 dogs, 2 Yorkies and a Maltese. I was thinking of maybe getting a stand dryer because it would more easy because it’s on a stand. What do you recommend ? Or should I get both ? Like the one you have and a stand one ? Also what is the best brand you recommend for a stand dryer ? Thank you 🙂

Can you use a regular dryer that we humans use or does it have to be pet friendly? If not, please let me know what kind. I really appreciate all your videos geared to poodles..Also, can you do a video on how to remove tear stained eyes? Thanks
@Hey-Hi-Jules2 жыл бұрын
@4UPrettyLady I suppose you can use a human dryer. However, it will take FOREVER and you CANNOT use it with the heat on!!!

Firstly, I love your videos! I've tried this technique several times in the past, but when I place the end of the hose that close to the body, the entire hose whips around. I'm sure it's because the air isn't able to escape so blows back into the hose. I'm only able to get about 1 or 2" from the skin until it starts doing this. I'm just wondering how you get so close without that happening. Is this a problem with my dryer? I have a variable dryer and I've tried low to high speeds without seeing a difference.

Hi, I didn't use full power on his legs and body as his coat is not that thick. For thick coats you can use it on full.

What if I want to keep the curls????
@mobstercrow75156 ай бұрын
I'm not sure how you can keep the curls, but you can NOT let a poodle air dry. Their hair will get very matted, so it HAS to be dried. I'm sure there is an attachment for dryers, I'm not sure though. They have them for humans so they might have them for dogs too.
