I can 100% relate to this. My first day is the worst! I can’t hold anything down. No medicine no food no anything . I have diarrhea and throwing up while also having intense pain. Thank god I don’t experience this every month but I’m wondering can this be a sign of infertility problems?
@fkhaagenson
@fkhaagenson 4 жыл бұрын
huggies asf In and of themselves painful periods aren’t a sign of infertility but they are a symptom of an underlying issue such as endometriosis, adenomyosis, fibroids and various other conditions. For me my painful periods were due to me having endometriosis. If you haven’t already talked to your doctor about it make sure you do so if there’s an underlying issue it can be addressed and taken care of before it affects your fertility.

Is it normal to have nausea during periods . I have it every 1st day of my periods and severe pain so because of that I have to take pain killers every 1st day of my periods to calm down the pain ,so as soon as I take the pain killers my period cramps are gone and so does the the nausea
@Femmepower
@Femmepower 5 жыл бұрын
Nausea can be a common period symptom for many. If it's really bothersome for you I encourage you to talk to a gynecologist about the nausea and pain you're experiencing on the first day of your period. Also, if your nausea and pain becomes worse and begins to disrupt your daily activities, or you're not able to manage it with over the counter medication speak with your gynecologist ASAP. Painful periods associated with nausea can be the sign of a reproductive health issue. So keep an eye on this, and track the symptoms you experience with each cycle so you're aware of any changes to your period.

@Femmepower
@Femmepower 5 жыл бұрын
H Hh currently I’m not experiencing intensely painful periods like I used to so I can use pampin and it manages my pain fine. As for nausea I usually sip ginger ale and take Zantac 75 and it helps me. Also snacking on little crackers and keeping cool help with nausea as well. In the past when I was a teenager and my periods were super painful I had to get a prescription from my doctor to be able to function while my period was on. As soon as I turned 18 I decided to go on the birth control pill which helped with the pain I was experiencing during my periods and I remained on the pill till I was 29.

@Femmepower
@Femmepower 4 жыл бұрын
brémuse That sucks I’m so sorry. I struggled with the same thing when I first started my periods in my teens and became an issue again when I went off birth control. My symptoms usually lasted for the first day and I was only able to sip ginger ale and popsicles. I vaguely remember being prescribed cataflam when I was a teen and this brought tremendous relief until I decided to take BCP to manage my period pain but I think it was discontinued a while back but you can always ask your doctor about it and see if it's an option or if there is something similar you can take. I'm not sure how long you're experiencing your symptoms but if your current doctor isn't helpful then please get a second opinion and find someone that will help you and get to the root cause of why you're experiencing such painful periods. Slight nausea is normal to experience during your period but extreme nausea, vomiting, and pain may indicate an underlying issue such as endometriosis which is often misdiagnosed or undiagnosed. I struggled with painful periods my entire adult life and just recently discovered I have endometriosis and two fairly large endometriod cysts that I need to have surgically removed. Not trying to freak you out because your periods can be painful for multiple reasons but I do want to encourage you to push for better treatment from your doctor or find someone who can help you get to the root cause of what's going on. I can't stress enough how important it is to advocate for your health especially when it comes to menstrual health and reproductive health. You deserve to have a healthy period that doesn't cause you so much distress! I pray you can find the help you need to ease your period nausea.❤️❤️

Try taking iron supplements before your period starts. I'm anemic and often become nauseated during the first two days of my period. Anemia is also a common cause of motion sickness. Taking iron supplements 10 days before a period seems to help.

Before starting a new supplement talk with your MD or a naturopathic doctor. Supplements address a deficiency if there isn’t one and your symptoms are caused by something else you could make it worse. Plus medical professionals can inform you of how many mg you should take based on your individual health. So please be careful when introducing new supplements

From someone who gets sick often, if you know your gonna puke drink a teaspoon of baking soda mixed in about a cup of water..have plain water to chase it.. it's kind of nasty. This helps great with heartburn, but it instantly knocks out he acid so of you do throw up it doesn't burn. Great heartburn treatment, but I deal with vomiting very often and this makes a huge difference.. doesn't make it any less awful, but at least you don't burn your throat...ears and nose in your case.

Talk to your doctor and get to the root cause of why your periods are so painful and debilitating. It could be a sign of an underlying issue such as endometriosis, adenomyosis, fibroids or something else. However it’s important for your reproductive health that you find out so you can get relief because you shouldn’t have to deal with that every month and I’m beyond sorry that you do because I totally get it and have been there. Haven’t started my period yet but think I will be soon. My boobs have been sore and have hurt for the past couple days which usually means I’m going to be start it. I also for the past few months I’ve been feeling nauseous before my periods, and I recently started feeling so half an hour ago, I took an ibuprofen and that’s kinda been helping but for me just sitting / laying on my back helps I tried leaning on my side and I felt worse lol. It sucks having PMS nausea cuz I’m never sure if it’s from food I ate, or if it’s bc I’m about to start my period.

I can never lay on my side either it makes it so much worse and will actually cause me to become sick! I have to sit up and have a fan blow cool air on me or be in a freezing cold room and sip ice cold ginger ale or nibble on saltine crackers. Also, ever since I started charting my cycle I’ve become better able to identify what’s pms symptoms versus non pms related and it also helps me to have a general idea of when my period is going to start so I can be prepared. I use the Kindara app and I highly recommend it. Pamprin and midol are the BEST for period symptoms. As for medicine for the nausea perhaps try an antacid like Rolaids. I’ve personally found Zantac 75 to be helpful for my nausea. I hope you get some relief soon!!

The Anti-Aging Rebel Thank you so much for the tips! Thankfully this evening I am not feeling any nausea at all. :) And I will keep those medicines in mind for when I next feel the symptoms. Also, thanks for the period app suggestion! I’m currently using “Flo” which is also a period tracker app, but it doesn’t seem to be very accurate. My last period started Aug 17th, and it’s telling me my next one will start this Saturday, the 14th. That period lasted for 13 days, almost a two weeks now that I’ve realized it! 😮 crazy. I think I’ve been having a couple PMS symptoms (nausea, sore breasts and sugary food cravings) but usually before my period I’ll start spotting dark brown blood for a couple days beforehand. Plus, my period has been irregular for the past like year, but recently it has been a bit more regular. I had it in July and August, and those are the last regular months I can remember. So yeah it’s hard to predict when I’m pmsing and on my period 😕 I’m just like never too sure

Oh I forgot the main part of why I was commenting back. It seems like you’re on a 29-day cycle. I’m not sure your age but that sounds pretty average. I know you mentioned having irregular cycles so I’m not sure if a 29 day cycle is average for you or not. A lot of different factors come into play with cycle length. Just keep tracking and keep an eye on it. If there are any abnormalities or your cycle remains irregular talk with your doctor about it.

I ended up at a summer camp right before my period started and got sick from the amount of movement, dehydration, heat, etc. It sucked, i only knew why the next day when i realized i was starting in the middle of someones speech! I always have such terrible nausea on my periods, but i usually dont actually get sick… the other factors however, like not being able to get enough food due to lines (my meds make me nauseous when that happens), accidentally grabbing something with too many spices, walking around all day in the sun, my meds dehydrate me (im supposed to have at least 80 ounces of water a day. I only made it to 32, too much activity) Really sucks, was such a great summer camp too. Woke up at 2am and was hit by the worst wave of nausea ive had since that first visit of the Madam after i started meds for POS/diabetes (the doctors arent sure which it is). Had to find an adult, they had to call the medic, 3 in the morning ive woken at least 5 people up including my mom. I had to leave the next day (today) because i was just feeling that awful

I highly recommend you schedule an appointment with a gynecologist and speak with them about your symptoms. They may try to brush you off and put you on the pill but make them address the root cause of why you’re having these symptoms. I encourage you to research endometriosis and adenomyosis because these conditions have similar symptoms to what you’re describing and it’s important if this is causing your symptoms that it is treated appropriately. And if possible have someone that you trust or feel comfortable with go with you for support and to advocate for you during the appointment as well. You shouldn’t be experiencing such debilitating pain with your periods. You deserve so much better. Take care and good luck 💕

Keep pushing. I’m going to share my story and dump a lot of info on you sorry for the long post in advance. It took me 18 years til I was finally diagnosed with endo. I had similar symptoms as yours when I was your age and no one really listened to me just put me on the pill. When I got off in my early 30s everything came back WORSE. And 2 years ago I had major surgery to remove 3 cysts from both ovaries one was 17cm the other 13xm and the other 6cm. I had 2 fibroids, scarring and adhesions my fallopian tube was glued to my intestines, and I had endometriosis on my peritoneum. I lost my left ovary and fallopian tube. And struggled with infertility for years before I decided to quit. I'm begging you to keep pushing and fighting for a proper diagnosis. The average PCP or gyno won't listen and dismiss you if you can find an endo specialist. They know exactly how to diagnose, treat, etc. Some IG accounts that educate on endometriosis are @vitalhealthendometriosis @endometriosis_surgeon @drsalliept @centerforendocare they specialize in endo and talk about your symptoms and how they treat endo. See if theres an endo specialist in your area or look into the ones I mentioned just don't give up I wouldn't wish what happens to me on anyone. I could go on and on about this topic. I have a couple videos that talk specifically about endo symptoms and tons of blog posts on my site of you want to check them out or have any questions don't hesitate to contact me. While I can't give you a quick fix for your pain I can put you on the right path to getting answers. ❤️

oh no! have you talked to your doctor about this and why it’s happening. I can imagine how frustrating that is to deal with.

I'll get cramps and nausea 10 days before my period starts.. Is this normal??

It's normal to experience mild cramping or slight nausea before your period as part of your premenstrual symptoms. However, if it's moderate to severe and interferes with your daily life do not hesitate to speak with your doctor about what you're experiencing and pushing for them to run the appropriate tests to identify the root cause of what's going on.

I have had it start as early as 10 days before, many times. But usually it’s 1-7 days from my period.

Mild nausea isn’t something to be terribly worried about I won’t say that it’s normal because what’s one persons normal could be another’s abnormal but it’s for sure common. On the other hand moderate to severe nausea is not normal. In either case talk with your doctor about it especially since this is a new symptom you’ve never experienced.
