How would you connect two speakers? I have two active speakers and a preamp but there’s only a single spot for connecting a speaker? Not sure if I’m just dumb or if I’m missing something
@ForeverAnalog Жыл бұрын
Active speakers do not pair with a preamp as there is an amp built into the speaker already. You plug one speaker into the wall and there should be a cable that connects the speaker plugged into the wall to the other speaker. That's all you need to do for sound output with active speakers. The amp inside the speakers will control volume, tone control and source like a preamp would with a traditional stereo system.

U-Turn tables are supposedly internally grounded and do not need a wire however they can often hum still. Try making a metal to metal connection if possible. Maybe find a metal screw on the table and connect a wire to the lug on the preamp.

I have active speakers without volume knobs. Is there some kind of switch type of thing I could add to the chain? I also can't connect my speakers to one another with one cable (I have Behringer Truth B2030A speakers).
@ForeverAnalog11 ай бұрын
Those speakers are studio monitors and probably intended to be paired with a mixing console or recording preamp that could control the volume and connections. I would search info on Behringer Truth speakers and see if there is a manual or video instruction on how to set those up properly.
@giuseppepettinati962711 ай бұрын
Hi, i solved this with a very cheap passive mixer (it's just a bunch of potentiometers in a small box).. something like 15€. The concept is so simple, i wouldn't spend more. You just connect all the sound sources in the rca ins and the active speaker in the mixer output and you're done. But being a passive mixer, you'd need a preamplified turntable or a phono preamplifier to put in between.
