I love learning art through a more logical lens the way you bring up research studies and apply them makes the goals seem more tangible and practical! Love your teaching style

I think a really good point you make is when you talk about the actual reward. For completely new artists I think a struggle we have is that the reality is our art isn't going to look "good" to us. We have this mindset that if we just practice now then we'll draw what we want eventually, but that can quickly lead to burn out, as we never derive enough satisfaction or reward from pure studies. "All work and no play" right? lol I think the real challenge as a brand new artist is coming to terms with that fact and to draw whatever we want regardless of our skill. Incorporate both study and play so that we continue to feel the joy of creating something, and accepting that art is built on a mountain of failures. Fearing failure is the last thing we want to do, it has to be embraced. Sorry I'm rambling but I really appreciate your videos! Keep up the good work!

I welcome the rambling though I would call it insightful words instead! 😁 You described the experience well and I like the idea that "art is built on a mountain of failures". Accepting failure is a big part of continuing the work you need to become a professional. Thankfully, our eyes are beginners too so even at an early stage, there are times when you'll view your work as great (even when there's a lot to improve). Enjoy the process and you find a reward in the effort itself!

This was very helpful, I keep my sketchbook next to my computer while doing school. That way after I’m done with my assignments, I’ll think “oh hey let’s draw!” It’s a pretty powerful technique!

So true, there has been drastic change between my first and recent art. Especially since I tried copying others style, but now that I have found my own way it's much easier and more better . Of course, consistent practice helped tremendously 👍🏻

How do you know you’ve gotten to a point where your brain is trying to fight you?
@ZephyerArt
@ZephyerArt 2 жыл бұрын
When you're not trying to subconciously distract yourself or avoid the behavior you want to perform. It's a good question because your brain doesn't fight you in obvious ways. You'll tell it to draw and it will be like "I can leave it for later" or "let's watch your favorite show first, then we can do that". When you make it easy and decide on a time that's small enough where your brain won't fight you, you'll sit down to draw. It's the equivalent of your brain being like "okay, that's easy enough, I can do that".
