This is amazing. I buy the cut ends of salmon (very inexpensive by the way) to use in cream pasta sauce and the skin must come off. I have struggled for a long time. Just did this this minutes ago and it worked like a charm. WOW thank you! FYI dipping the pieces in hot water only results in burnt fingers - the skin does not come off the fish.

I’ve hav used the boiling water on the last years frozen fish and it was VERY hard to do. I did not let It thaw. I’m going to let my frozen fish thaw a bit it’s a whole fish, then try your method. Alaska is where I live. Anyway this is awesome. I’ll be using it to demo at a class I teach. I’ll do the whole fish too but will now thaw it a bit to allow the skin to soften. The outside of the whole fish will need to be cleaned. Using vinegar gets that slime off if they are fresh caught. Personally the fish cooked skin down in the pan usually looses its skin to the bottom of the dish cooked in Thank you this is so helpful

Yes your right about searing the fish on the skin side an it comes right off, I do this method when I want to season both sides of the fish...tfw 😊

Hot tap water works just as well. Do not have to boil water. Run it under your hot tap and peel.
