I’m the guy that runs the edger on our landscape crew. I’m very picky and ever blade must be cut perfectly all the way to the corners and I also do the leaf blowing which means all dirt and grass must be taken out of the edge for best look. I’ll change blades at least once a day and adjust the wheel height through out the day as it wears. Nothing beats edging a nice thick lawn with a fresh blade. Sunglasses and headphones are a must! Do it enough times day in and out like me and I’ll run bed edges and concrete with the wheel hardly ever touching the ground 😎 nice vids my man

Great job on showing the differences of edgers and results. I used to use a bladed corded edger for years with great results Black & Decker . When it finally burnt out I wanted something cordless but cheap so I went with their 40v trimmer edger and to my surprise the string trimmer worked well and found the key to a crispy edge is how often its done. Mowing every other day and edging at the same time keeps it clean and crisp so it never gets out of shape. Does a blade work better yes but not necessarily needed with consistency .
@RonHenry3 жыл бұрын
Thanks stiperman. I'm seeing other people using the bladed edgers. I imagine the blades last longer than the stick edger blade. Probably does a really nice job due to the extra weight too. With practice you can get a really tight line with a string trimmer. I've just had a few oopsies over the years, so I've gone to the stick edger. Thanks for chiming in man. Appreciate you watching.

Cold season you get a bit more height to work with. When I edge with a trimmer, the edge is already maintained, I keep a slight angle away from the grass so you mostly just hit the dirt itself. With nice concrete edged you can get the spinning trimmer string to ride into the edge, so I can be less accurate while moving faster(running sometimes lol) and the edge comes out crisp.

Hi Mercury. The best advice I can give is to keep the string trimmer as far away from the fence as possible.
