Naeem Fekri I used to feel pain in my wrists every time I do push-ups cause I would let my hands be all relaxed and let my fingers spread. After watching one of his videos where he talked about keeping everything tight, bringing your fingers together and contracting everything. I tried it and did a couple of push ups... and I didn’t feel any pain then I realized that my technique was the reason I was feeling pain.

Hey matt this tip has completely changed my push ups, the tension control makes all the difference. My hands would slip away while doing push ups, but that is because I did not tense the forearms and hands properly. Now it doesn't happen any more and there is no wrist pain too. Thanks so much matt, keep doing you.

Hey Matt, I don't recall where but once you have recommended isometric flexions (with a curled fist) and extensions (with fully extended fingers) of your wrist for wrist strength and to work your forearm and increase ROM. How does the degree to which you twist your forearm play into that? I. e. the orientation of the wrist to the elbow? I find that (with my elbow facing forward) flexing my wrist while my forearm is rotated outwards is harder than when my forearm is rotated inwards. With extension it's similar and there I feel the stretch of my wrist flexors more with an outward rotated forearm. To me it almost seems as if there are four parts to this exercise, not just two. Any thoughts?

I would check to see if your back tension is holding your shoulders down and back enough to keep your palm flat on the floor. Also try bringing your hands an inch or two apart and see if that helps.

I've been getting wrist pain since I started knuckle pushups about 6 weeks ago. I want to keep with them because the workout is so much harder on my pecs and shoulders, but not sure it's sustainable any more. Can muscle tensing help with knuckle pushups too, or should I give up on them and just go back to regular pushups?
@RedDeltaProject2 жыл бұрын
You can do either, but I would bet the intensity has little to doing them on your knuckles and more with having a slight external rotation in your shoulders which often happens with a "vertical" or neutral grip which is just what you usually do with knuckle push-ups. So try doing them on your hands, but do the push-ups like you're trying to touch your elbows behind your back or rubbing your forearms on the sides of your ribs as you do them.

Have IT band pain while doing squats. Wanted to know if you knew any tips to help prevent this
@RedDeltaProject5 жыл бұрын
In many ways, the IT band is a bit of a joint issue since it's a long band of connective tissue and lot of joint pain is from irritation of the connective tissue surrounding the joint. Look to maintaining tension in the glutes and hamstrings (esp the inner thigh hamstrings) and work to strengthen and mobilize the outter hip. Try practicing this move each day: kzbin.info/www/bejne/o2PclqqhjrxoaqM
