I crochet but I was thinking of a way to start doing the eyes different. I love this technique because I can see how to do this for the eyes. I don’t really see embroidery anymore. Especially the free hand way. I did cross stitch and had to always get stamped. Now there are lots of ways to do it without buying it that way.

What type of fabric do you usually use? Needle size? And how many threads do you typically use as well? I’m just getting into embroidery but I don’t know how to improve on the small details to better my craft. At first I used random needle sizes that didn’t work with the fabric I selected, and used all six strands of embroidery floss! Many websites conflict when I look into it, and so I’m just curious what your personal preference is!
@CutesyCrafts4 жыл бұрын
This is 100% linen, but my favorite it a cotton/linen blend. I have a post about it here: cutesycrafts.com/2018/07/best-embroidery-fabric.html. I used 3 strands of floss for this and that's my favorite amount to use for this kind of lettering. I'll use different amounts, depending on how thick I want the stitches. Here's a post about supplies, where I talk about needle sizes: cutesycrafts.com/2018/08/5-essential-hand-embroidery-supplies.html. I use a size 8 needle for 3 strands. I have a whole series of beginner information posts here: cutesycrafts.com/how-to-embroider-for-beginners. I hope that helps!
