I would be very much interested in a tutorial for the big letters! This exactly what I am looking for right now.

I believe that stitch is called Satin stitch so you could search for a tutorial video on that, but you've most likely discovered that on your own by now! Best regards.

Wanted to learn this so I can put my initials on the sweater I bought for my boyfriends birthday. Love how clear and simple your explanation was, what should I buy to get these results? ☺️

You will need to use some kind of stabilizer on the back of the fabric, especially if it is stretchy. I haven't experimented a lot with clothes yet, so I don't have a brand to recommend.

I’m doing two good size cross stitch marriage date and name things. My very first time cross stitching and many decades since I tried embroidery a little when I was very young. I’m going to use the stem stitch fir their names and date to make it look a little better so I’m combining both crafts lol

.....One more QUESTION: on the downward stroke of the letter L , the direction of the middle thread is changed again, back to the left.... However she repeats saying, pull stitch to the same side. She pulls to the left side when the stroke of the letter is going down and to the right when going up. Correct? Incorrect? I’m confused by the verbiage.

This is a linen cotton blend (it's my favorite). I have a blog post about it here: cutesycrafts.com/2018/07/best-embroidery-fabric.html

amazing work! i love the type you use for "and life". Is that your handwriting or a commercial font? Thanks in advance!

I think I based it off "Dawning of a New Day" but added my own flourishes.

Hello!! Just wanna ask, how many strands do you use? And what kinda thread?:)
@CutesyCrafts4 жыл бұрын
This is DMC embroidery floss. I believe I was working with 2 or 3 strands on these letters.

The video seems to cut out right at the exact time when I questions the direction of the pull direction. Is there someone who can help with an explanation/example of direction the thread is pulled? If I try to keep it on the same direction of pull, my top loops on letters collapses, so to speak, and become wide. If I change the direction of pull, at the top of the letter the middle stitch holds the stitch in place making the curve..... I’m 🤷♂️ confused.

Can we use this method to stitch names on blankets or swaddles?
@CutesyCrafts5 жыл бұрын
Yes, I would probably iron an interfacing on the back of your stitches when you are done. I'm still experimenting to find one that I like.

Hello, how did you transfer the words onto your fabric?
@CutesyCrafts6 жыл бұрын
For this, I used a pen that disappears with heat and a light table. You can read about embroidery transfer methods on my post here: cutesycrafts.com/2018/08/embroidery-transfer-how-to-transfer-an-embroidery-pattern.html

Yes, that one is a satin stitch. A pain to do in that font style, but I eventually figured it out.

@@CutesyCrafts yeah, I have a similar font, more old English style. I don't think I'm ready for it 😂 thanks for your reply ✨
