Do you have z-link on your headunit? That should work. Also, Android Auto version 10 should work.

It's supposed to reconnect automatically when you're connected to the headunit subsequently via Bluetooth

Coolwalk has now been made available to most people. Just make sure your phone is running the latest version of Android Auto, and you should have it. Otherwise, let me know.

Hi, I can't figure out how to get Android auto to look right on my multimedia (res 1024x600) it just looks weird. When I tried it on the free Headunit app it looked better, but when I use the same settings on the paid version it is not the same. Best settings so far were: 1920x1080 , 250 pixel densitiy, overscan : on What is "Pixel Density" exactly and how does it affect the look of the UI? I appreciate your help.

@Neo Fox, The resolution and pixel density would depend on the particular headunit and screen size you have. Higher PPI gives higher image quality but smaller fonts and icons. If you have a 9 inch, then 1280×720 with 200ppi will be good

@@nh-tech yes, thats correct 8227l, the problem is this radio is androd 8.1 go and im unable to install google assistant but the mic works in google normally and in invoice calls, so, im using headunit reloaded paid, all works well but not the google assistan, idk if the microphone is using the mic of the radio or my smartphone

Hi Jim, When you're using android auto, it uses the mic in your headunit. Try launching Google assistant by tapping the assistant/microphone logo on your AA screen. If it launches but does not detect your voice, then check to make sure you have internet connection on your phone. If you are using wireless AA in headunit reloaded, try with cable and do not connect to the radio's hotspot as this can affect internet connectivity, unless you enable mobile data-only apps. I also did some digging on your headunit and I think you can update the firmware. I found this video kzbin.info/www/bejne/pafOfIyrZap7h5Y on how to upgrade your firmware to android 11.

Love Headunit Reloaded. I have now Coolwalk, didn't have to download the apk, but i have a problem. After using reverse gear (with rear camera) the widget buttons ( spoty, waze,....etc) stop working.....the map and the controls of the music work but not the down side buttons 🤬🤬🤬

First, try and get the latest apk update from apkmirror and see if the problem persists. You may want to check the headunit, starting from your canbus, then wiring harness if the problem persists after the update

Good question, Antoine! I have not tested it on that type of headunit, so I'm unable to speak to that. Yet, I believe the app will work on the portion of the screen designated for apps. Can you try it and share with us if you have one?

Is it the phone or the headunit? Either ways, I just tested HUR on my android tablet running android 12 and it works. My phone is also running android 12 and its working. You could try uninstalling and reinstalling. Also check if you granted HUR the necessary permissions on your headunit. If all these fail, change the resolution that HUR is running in settings>graphics

Did you download the android auto 8.7 apk I showed? If yes, then go to settings >apps>android auto>storage>clear cache on your phone. Then on HUR, use either 800×600 resolution with 156 pixel density or 720p with 200 pixel density. Let me know how it goes.

Unfortunately, coolwalk is not compatible with zlink yet. I guess that's because zlink doesn't have flexibility in resolution and pixel density. From my experiment, coolwalk only works in different resolutions at certain pixel densities.

I'm not enrolled. Did you follow everything I did and did not skip any part of the video? If you did everything I said, then go to settings->apps->android auto->storage->clear cache on your phone after installing the AA 8.7 update.

It's a server side update. No apk can help get the update, so pretty much lies.

@Buhhhzerker, Well, I'm sorry I proved your theory wrong. I've never been in the beta program, yet it's working perfectly for me. At least, follow everything I did in the video first. Don't also forget that Google announced the mass rollout on Jan 5th, which suggests that the server side update will be available to you once you get the apk update.
