After adding the gift card just go down to add funds and type in the gift card amount. That way the funds on the card are in your ps5 wallet and you're not trying to make a partial payment directly from the card

I’ve been in that same exact position, really makes no sense why it’s even a for payment if it doesn’t even work. Something that’s worked for me in the past though is to call the number on the back and reactivate the card because they’ve always unactivated after some time for me for some reason

Add funds to psn from gift card then use the psn funds to buy what you need, address and name and such doesn’t matter. Be sure the card is activated.
