this isnt just a parent thing some siblings do this. mine didnt, since i usually played with them and i had an old tv in my room i just blew up their stuff on minecraft or killed them in battleblock theater until i died laughing and they started trying to beat me to death with the controller (i have my xbox 360 in my room, and i sold my ps4 to get a gaming pc and bought a 75hz acer monitor and trying to upgrade to a 240)

Maybe it's in a newer version of Remote Play, but I only discovered this in 2023, and in the Remote Play settings, you can choose to use Mobile Data which is off by default.

Yes but most phone companies only let you do like 1gig of hotspot data and gaming will eat that up real quick. I have AT&T unlimited and that’s the case for me. If they did unlimited hotspot data then no one would buy internet so they phone companies scam us into buying it by not letting us use sufficient hotspot data.

How exactly are you able to play from anywhere? The ps4 is just connected to the hotspot on the phone. Jusg because the connection comes from the laptop doesnt make it playable from anywhere lol! As soon as your away your hotspot wont work. What you have to do is buy a internet stick that enables sim cards. Also you will need a ethernet to usb adapter. I just bought the huawei e3372 as the stick and an rj45 ethernet to usb adapter. And with that you can plug it to your ps4 which connects it to your mobile data. Then you should be able to play it from anywhere, with you mobile phome. Not sure what you did here lol!
