In Australia if we leave the country (which we're currently unable to do due to being banned by the government because of the coronavirus) we're taxed at a much higher rate. We become what's known as a "non resident for tax purposes". So my plan is to live in Thailand for 6 months out of the year so I stay an Australian resident for tax purposes, live off my government pension and let my Bitcoin holdings continue to rise in value. It wont be much longer before 5% of my bitcoin will be worth more than my monthly government pension. I might sell off 5% of my bitcoin per year, convert it to fiat and add it to my monthly income. I will rent in Thailand. I will rent a condo, I will rent a motorcycle, I will rent people - I will rent everything! It's a great plan - I go where i'm treated best (Thailand) and I own and live off two of the best assets imaginable - a secure government defined benefit pension income for life + bitcoin.

Even low rollers can make substantive moves to expatriate. Many countries do not allow foreigners to own real estate, yet you can acquire a master lease (with an option to buy), and then sublet to tenants. Motivated or distressed owners will very often let you take over the management of their property with no down payment; just make their payments and repairs, and then you're set. Often times, contractual control is superior to the risk of ownership, and you're earning a fair living while you are waiting out the clock to acquire citizenship.

work in gig economy and write off everything you can to avoid taxes. Take savings and start a business that you can build and expand and work towards becoming a multi-millionaire. Next buy real estate in multiple countries.

Portugal. Easy to get a bank account and citizenship in 5 years with no tax on crypto. Easy to get a home too. OR just move to Nevada for no Fed Taxes. Seems legit of a choice to me.

At what net worth would you suggest looking at tax-free CBI programs?
@nomadcapitalist4 жыл бұрын
It really depends on your wealth velocity, risk profile of you or your business, quality of your current passport, etc. For a westerner, start anywhere from $500K-1M for day trader and cryptocurrency types, or $2M+ for others.

Why not borrow against your crypto to buy a house, car, yacht, etc?
@christopherrussell60554 жыл бұрын
That’s a good idea! Or at least a good thing to do more research on to see if it’s a good idea 😛 From what I’ve heard so far, companies like Celsius will loan you 25-50% of what you collateralize to them... I don’t own enough crypto to buy a house, but if I had enough to buy 2-8 houses I’d look into this further 😏 Just don’t get the loan during the BTC spike! When it comes down you’ll be liable for what it was worth at the top 😵

Take out low interest crypto backed loans. No tax and the cost of the loan would be less then the cost of the tax.

Sates with no cypto tax: Alaska, Florida, Nevada, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Washington, and Wyoming Puerto Rico. Capitol gains are lower if invested for more than one year. All exchanges report crypto to the FEDs and all crypto can be tracked. Buying off a peer to peer " DEX" exchange can remove the exchange so i'm not sure if it's being tracked. My plan is to get a mail box type residency in a US base crypto tax haven example Puerto Rico and be done with it. If buying over sea use you over seas bank to buy the crypto with and just pay the over seas tax on it. OR use your US based exchange and US based Crypto haven address and US bank and be exempt from taxes yet still live overseas. Not fair to get double taxed from both countries. Other countries may still try to tax you when bring money into their country so best to still keep your US bank and spend of the card. For large investments like land it will be hard to move large amounts with out being taxed

The more I think about Mr.Nomad It is an appealing thought too leave the USA 🇺🇸 it is getting ridiculous here . I wouldn't renounce my citizenship but wouldn't mind finding a new peaceful home in a tropical American friendly environment. I live America grew up here all I have ever known. However it is obviously going too crap 🙄

It seems to me that by the time a person moves pays taxes in the new country and has 2 homes to maintain it would be better just to stay put and pay the tax and not have the second home in a foreign country to maintain. The hassle of traveling between the two countries is enough for me to stay put.
