My dog LOVES the find it game. I played about 5 minutes with her and she’s hooked. What a neat idea!

@@isaiahmontoya9150 I did the hiding treat around the house, and had my baby girl find them. She loved the game of hide and seek the treat. She even waited as I hid them with the door closed!!!

Love your channel! It's great! Thank you! 😊🙏 I've done the cup game with my mini aussie using a toy. He gets it everytime! He's very very smart. I did an iq test with him and he scored the highest. I put a blanket over him and he got it off immediately. The cup game and more. He loved all the games and was so happy!

Wow, March 2020. When we all believed we would come together and beat this. But anyway, I loved the video and I find the lady so calm and positive and charming. I do most of these with my dog. Don't have a treadmill and do live in an apartment so we took our walks on the roof for two years. I think it was a little boring for her so tried to change things up by hiding things for her to find or engaging her chase instinct and running away sometimes.

My dog learned it from a poop eater we were hiking with. Shadow found a coyote poop and started eating it and Boris then found one a munched it down. Now the only way to keep him from eating it is to keep it (in the yard) cleaned 2x a day. I need to teach him ‘leave it’

What are your thoughts on giving a dog a treat when they get upset about seeing another dog? Almost like trying to make them associate seeing a new dog as a good thing.
@DogPsychology1014 жыл бұрын
If they could only think like that :-(. You would actually be rewarding the upset behavior. "What you love you get more of". If you give food, love, anything positive. You are rewarding the "feelings", behavior they are experiencing at that moment.

It helped me giving my dog a treat BEFORE he went in to reactive mode when seeing dogs/children. After a while i started giving him a commando before the treat. After that was learned in I started making him hold the commando i gave him while dogs passed. After a couple months now my dog can keep his focus on me while dogs pass us. Still some trouble if the other dog is reactive as well

I have to be alert when walking my dog, give a few treats at the start of the walk with the "look at me" so he has his listening ears on Then get his attention when I see the dog in the distance before he can get too excited. I taught him to "touch" my hand with his nose and I reward this with a treat without fail and it is a game we play when we need to get past another dog, it gets his focus on me using his ears eyes and body all at once. I move my hand around and repeat it as many times as it takes til we're past the dog, treating every time. He's very smart and knows loads of commands but if there's a big or scary distraction then a sit or lie down will not do, the knowing he will be rewarded for "touch" is vital. It's very rare now that he will react to other dogs, he has even been able to acknowledge they're there but still returns his attention to me which is amazing progress, he used to be so afraid and defensive.

@@Moominteapotthat one comment from her has told me not to watch any more videos 😂 I rehomed an incredibly reactive dog who had never been walked near dogs or even worn a leash, she would bark and lunge/spin/try and slip her collar at every dog even when they were super far away..she is now perfect can walk past any dog without losing her mind and I did that by "rewarding bad behaviour" apparently 🫠 I'm glad I didn't take any advice from the likes of this channel.... She'd still be just as bad!

Pleaseeeee pleaseeee help!! Can you answer my question please I need help SMH My Shih Tzu is soooo stubborn. I taught him Fetch at 4 months... a perfect game. 1. Submissively sitting w/ eye contact 2. Retrieval 3. Leaving it immediately 4. Sitting submissively again with eye contact And now he is 10 months.... and omg he has been TRYING ME these last couple of weeks. He went through a phase of retrieving it and then trotting off to play by himself. Reading Cesars Book it said that Pack leaders START and END the game. And End it while he is still happily playing. So I got two “bones” now and when he would retrieve it, I would tempt him to bring it back and throw the other bone so that he will drop the one he has and continue the game. This worked for like a week... but NOW, I will throw the “stick” and he will run to it... only to not pick it up and turns back towards me and goes about his business doing whatever he wants (which is usually him just sitting back down near the backdoor) and he will NOT play fetch anymore. I did not get frustrated, yell, scream, punish him.... but I felt like I had to make him follow through, at least ending the interaction with me in control... But he is SO STUBBORN. I can put his e collar on and have the vibration on high with me issuing the command and staying calm and assertive, but continuing to vibrate and issue the command. His tail is not in between his legs at all, and he is crouched a little while he tries to avoid me. (I don’t run behind him, I simply continue to follow wherever he goes walking away from me and telling him the command he knows: “Fetch, or Go Get It” and he just absolutely REFUSES. Please Help! What is going on!??

I think you are a very good student! And you're working hard to do the right thing. But sounds to me like he doesn't have fun playing with so many rules. It's okay to loosen up and have fun . Just play! Get a little excited. He just needs to be respectful. I would have playtime that is not so structured. I think if he has more fun he will WANT to engage you more. Would you say that YOU are fun to play with? Commands, etc. can be done at another time. Especially until he relaxes and learns to have fun with you again. You can have it all you know! :-)

dogs cant be stubborn btw. There are other factors playing along. Not stubbornness.
