Sexual liberty is not the liberty to indulge my compulsions, rather it's the liberation from the compulsion to indulge. Beautiful teaching from TBI. May God bless your ministry.

I am not Catholic, I am Baptist, but the info in this video is so rooted deep in the truth of God. Listening to this video brought conviction for my actions in the present and past. I wish this would go viral.

It is a relief to listen to you guys. Almost brings tears to my eyes. I miss my Catholic community. Your words make me feel at home, loved, accepted. I feel alienated and misunderstood in a predominantly non-Catholic city.

All Christians can agree with you there. We need to come to a unity of the faith over such basic issues as chastity

Imagine how many couples, even those who have been married for a long time, do not know what true chastity means. And that chastity is also necessary in marriage to live in harmony and true love between spouses.

As someone who's had episodes in his marriage where a wall, a distance came between us due to stress and exhaustion, where we stopped snuggling or outright stopped touching one another and as someone who sees this happening in friends of ours right now... I think chastity not just contains abstinence, as you so rightly said... it also contains noticing when a distance grows and knowingly bringing intimacy back UP to a healthy level. It's not just suppression. It's also elevation that is part of this skill. Like you took down that wall. The hard part is the balance. I'm not saying complete abstinence is easy. Not at all but complete indulgence, while being easy to do is hard to live with for extended periods of time. So as usual, the task becomes finding a balance and nurturing that.

This is so good! I really identify with Christopher when he said that he had become worried about crossing lines with Wendy and put up a wall. My girlfriend and I are both the kinds of people that touch is one of our love languages. Holding hands, sitting with our shoulders or bodies in contact, these things make us feel connected deeply more than other things. So we struggle with how we kiss each other. It’s very difficult sometimes to make sure that kissing deeply/passionately (“making out”) doesn’t turn into us ending up on top of each other. We had a conversation about how both of us were acting and decided to try other ways of showing intimacy. We gave up making out for two months and I think that was ultimately a good thing but also both of us feel somewhat neglected. We both want to show each other that we love each other and that there’s passion. Both of us want to feel that too from the other. Last night we had a beautiful moment where we allowed ourselves to kiss more deeply than we have in the past two months. I think it was very healthy for us. Both of us were careful to be respectful of what causes us to “go too far”. And it seemed wholesome because we both wanted to keep each other safe. I can tell we will have to work on it still but it seems providential that I’m seeing this video now while trying to contemplate these conversation again.

This was very beautifully put, moving me deeply within. I felt especially struck when Cristopher spoke about putting up a wall - even though I did it unconsciously at first, it's something I've done out of a reflex, scared that I will hurt the one whom I love and fear of being unchaste, constantly reminded of my unchaste life, during my time out of the Church when I had abandoned the faith for 7 years... It's going to take time to heal those wounds that I've caused myself and the hurt that others have caused me. But this video is definitely a step in that right direction. Thank you and God bless!

I'm not sure you answered the question this person was asking. I've been dating this girl for almost 2 years and I gotta say, it's very difficult to maintain a "chaste relationship", we really love eachother but abstinence is a hard path to thread. I'll appreciate y'all advice, prayers... anything you can give at this point.

My answer - Yes it is hard, but i think the alternative is worse than -I would say if you didn't have desire to go farther then what's prescribed ( like tearing each others clothes off)? To me would be a bigger problem in the long run.

Avoid fornication, self abuse, porn is the best, it is hard but sex outside of marriage it is the way to loneliness and unhapiness, I learn this in the worst way possible. Jesus is Good and Just what one reaps is what one sows.

Yes, because I think the alternative is worse than - I would say if you didn't have desire to go farther then what's prescribed ( like tearing each others clothes off)? To me it would be a bigger problem in the long run. Because and if you don't have that desire now?- how are you going to look at each other in 20 yrs and you've had sex 1000 times with each other - we were horny like that from the beginning - married at 24 me ,and 23 her, and after 3 kids and counting we had are best sex lives in our 30 and forties - They can say what they want about sex but it got us through some difficult times.

Not necessarily as long as you have that Eros desire for your boyfriend. If you don’t desire your boyfriend that way than you probably shouldn’t be with him. I desire my girlfriend that way but we have had no issues with staying chaste physically so far. However we have had to tamper down our imaginations.

And there is a more practical reason too. Sex can be used as a weapon of manipulation and this is considered normal in the today’s world. Infatuation also is considered love but its infatuation. If you are infatuated you cannot do good decisions about the other person because you are blind for any other good or bad things of character the other person has or hasn’t. It’s advisable that we don’t mix things and we don’t go to the next level of intimacy if you don’t know well the person first. I’m talking in general for everyone of course religious people will know this but in general is a good rule for everyone. And as my Mom used to say “ sex is for mature people who know what they are doing and the responsibility of it”, she was a religious person but she had common sense. Now we are pushing sex in minors!

so......... in your youth, throw it to Chad and Tyrone but now that you've met a "good man" you're gonna make him wait no one sees the problem a man would have with this?? toss it around FOR FREE to the dregs of society but GOOD MEN need to "put in the work" pfft!!

Keep heart. Not everyone is sleeping around. And if we have then we need to repent and then seek redemption and restoration in the Lord & community. We're not obligated to keep dating or marry someone we deem not wise. Kyrie Eleison, Christe Eleison.

It was the opposite in dating with my now husband-he made me wait to even kiss him. We had a quick engagement, but we were older at 30+. Every failed relationship I’ve been through throughout my adult years, he was worth waiting for. It also wasn’t hard because I knew it would be worth it.

No, no, you missed the whole point of the video. Nowhere in the whole video do they advocate having sex before marriage with ANYONE, much less the "dregs of society." (In fact, if they did support this, they would be going against the "Theology of the Body," supporting which is the whole point of the channel, as St JPII's Theology of the Body does not allow any sex before marriage at all. In fact, your comment is so off the topic of the video that I wonder if this is an accidental comment that was meant to be posted to a different video.

I'm a mother to a handsome 10 year old. I'm single and waiting for Mr Right. It's not easy. Men somehow think l would not have a problem with having sex as l have a child. It's very confusing. I fell, I didn't know better. Now, that l do l am walking on the right path. Repentance means turning away and this is a condition for absolution in confession. So it's not not she denies the good guy. It's that she's growing and moving differently.

@@regsabatinithat's so sweet. I was recently dating someone and we set a rule to wait to kiss. It was hard but it helped us realize if we are best for one another. We decided to "break up" but now I'm going to practocising waiting to kiss until we are sure of one another. If it's God's will we can wait until the altar. That's so romantic to show that kind of restraint.
