Make sure the hose ends on any union are secured to prevent gradual backing-off if pipes are twisted when tightened. I fixed leaks a year or so after kitchen fitter had installed extended joined hoses by nipping up joints on nipple/coupler, then silicon taping and securing braided hose with Adel clamps to deter untwisting. If installing hose should be 'back-twisted' before tightening on..

Didn’t think of that as same problem recently 👍👍 I did just buy some longer flex hoses from eBay they seem to go upto 600mm and so far so good, actually I did think about doing something similar but with push fit hoses

As pera previous comment, whilst this physically works and perhaps good for an emergency it shouldn't be done for a long term install. The reason is the extension hose (the 15mm compression to 1/2 BSP) is not designed to be screwed up against a washer. It has sharp edges that will cut in to the washer. Perhaps this is the reason in the video you add an extra washer? Nice idea but not recommended.

I used a flat faced ISO valve 15mm x 1/2", available from tool station or B.E.S but not screw fix for some reason

@@strummer6642 Only possible downside, depending on your exact use case, is the bore of the ISO valve can be narrower than the flexi hose, but if you needed an ISO valve anyway then winner!!!

I have just come across your video.You could of just run a piece of copper pipe out from the isolation valve and connected with a compression fitting onto the flexitail

@@AngeloProMusician these extensions have a standard threaded female end and a compression/male end. The male end comes with a brass insert and a nut that keeps it in place. Gotta take the nut off to attach the supply line from the faucet in this scenario but you don't show that, nor do you address the brass piece and if its needed in this application or not.

I've got another problem . I have old rubber piping supplying the water and it doesn't have a connector on the end of the pipe so cant connect to the new taps feed pipes . is there a male connector to old style " push in" male for old open rubber piping ??
