Will this type of factory rest, clean a PC, if you think it might have a reserve-shell or keylogger installed? Per my understanding the data retention method, as shown in the video will not with any assurance, do so. You would need to do a full operating system reinstall, which of course, will not allow any type of data retention, right?

Hi and thanks for this video. 13 months ago, I bought an HP 45L Gaming desktop GT22-0xxx that after less than a month was replaced rapidly by HP. The problem now seems to be the same as 13 months ago. I still have an old (13 years) PC (tower) using an "Asus motherboard " that never to this day created any problems including "Boot device not found"s. I ran the HP EUFI diagnostics with no bad results after close to 2 days running . I also went into the Bios and found nothing bad. I would like to know if I can get rid of the HP motherboard an replace it in the same desktop casing with a new ASUS motherboard , while being able to boot and access all my installed programs, and data on the disk . . . I 'don't want to send it to a repair service shop, and expose myself to cyber crime. Will the water cooling system will fit the asus motherboard and feel free to comment...... Regards

I'm trying to figure out if the "recovery" partition can be used to restore my HP Spectre 13 inch screen (about 5 yrs old) back to the way I got back then. It was fast. I know Win update will have to add some security fixes, but I hope I can keep things clean and mean. Win11 is a dog on this computer because it pegs the gpu anytime watching video. Even with all the Win performance/appearance things turned off, it's still a clunker.

You want your HP computer to turn on to an empty black screen? Computers usually dont start to a black screen even when they are new. Was there any message or anything on the screen?

In my experience if you are trying to get wifi to connect during setup the best thing to do is leave it on the initial wifi screen andcclose the computer Open it the next day and see if it connects then

@@PC_Monkey. To be fair it took me 2 goes and it took forever. I didn’t use f11. 1st time it restarted and my apps were still there. I can imagine if someone hasn’t got UFB, this process could be a real headache. My PC was originally windows 10 when I bought it. Then I downloaded windows 11 when Microsoft released the free upload. Will Zoom work on Windows 10 Sir. I have a Mac and an I-Pad Pro as well. Cheers.

My PC is HP and originally windows 10 and was upgraded to 11 on the HP roll out. So obviously it restores back to 10. I’ll get a brand new one this year sometime. I’m mostly using my I-Pad Pro these days.i think in June Apple are releasing an OLED M3 version. So with my failing eyes, that will be a god send, lol. Power to you and cheers.

HP has all but called me a liar. They want to charge $50 for a support incident. They say the bios is "software" In any conception of the world bios is part of hardware. I have done this before but cannot remember the keys to get to it. The bios has other entries such as enable usb charging and multiple other settings. The one I want is to restore to original factory settings. I HAVE DONE IT but have forgotten how. Help really would be appreciated

It used to be my professional video editing machine before I got into Macs. I want to wipe it clean so I can recycle it. Not reset it to factory specs.
