I think the most important part of poker is having different strategies for each individual opponent. Making intuitive observations and from that information base your strategy accordingly.

Again, outstanding session to watch and learn from. Lex Veldhuis missing acts of aggression/overfolding? Long-time fan of Lex, and enjoy his content greatly, but to think he could be "more active" seemed...unthinkable. Gotta love this game.

Would you guys consider making an MDA/ Exploit video? I understand that most important is already knowing good poker in each spot.

The series is really reigniting my passion for poker! Are these GTO strategies specifically tailored for MTTs? Would they work more generally in cash game scenarios? I suppose its really just the key considerations of stack sizes and whether opponents are valuing their 'life' or ICM considerations?
@RKatz121
@RKatz121 23 күн бұрын
There's also rake that you need to consider that can really effect the GTO strategy

Great video, i really like these coaching series. But all the GTO wizard sims are made chipEV in this video, but according to the stack sizes it is not early stages. Even a bit of ICM will make 3bet range more polarized even at 75% players left . Actually even if 100% left it is not a chip EV game. Playing Chip EV means plaing for chips like in cash game, so a cash game with no rake and antes, but there is always ICM considerations in MTT. On GTo wizard 100% left MTT charts are not availiable yet for 35BB but i don't think you should 3bet call 98s BB vs BU. The 25% left charts are very important because they're not very different than 50% left and also 10% left etc. THe most expensive mistakes are made on the later stages, that's why i'd like GTO wizard to realese posflop solutions with ICM because only PIO can do that. I don' care having an expensive IA solver, i want normal solver with ICM and multiway solutions , at list on a subset of 25 flops.
@nawhead
@nawhead 10 ай бұрын
I think Lex and Jordan addresses this around 18:00 sort of. This is pure poker, the highest EV plays as a baseline. It's up to us to make the proper ICM and/or exploitative adjustments in our own games. We should be dropping a lot of these 3-bet bluffs when we know other people are not opening the 98o from the button (because they're just tight or due to ICM). Knowing the why of the theory behind the 3-bets is more important than blindly copying.
@Rodinho37
@Rodinho37 5 ай бұрын
@@nawhead yeah but ICM are not just adjustable strategy using small infomation on the table or bias. it is theory too and matters a lot when it comes to plays like 3-bet call

At around 17:50 with the AK, im wondering why this hand is sometimes defending through all in or call in the GTO solution even though its saying its losing like 15-20bb/100? 🤔

when you guys are planning to play this way is it in response to all types of play or do these plays work on all types of players... as in this is GTO(?) and you are assuming the players who play back at you are also employing a (GTO) strat?
@srki22
@srki22 Жыл бұрын
What is good about bluffing with K7s. Four things: 1) You are blocking AK and KK. 2) If they have AK, they will 4 bet so you are almost never dominated when they call. 3) you are ahead of some of their calls like JTs, 76s, 56s. 4) Against pocket pairs you will have at least one overcard, but possible both if they have 66s, 55s etc. That hand helps you play perfectly, when their 4 bet preflop, you can just fold because they will almost never 4bet bluff with worse hand, they either have KQo thinking that they are bluffing, or they have A5s.

Man is this the future of poker? Playing KXs as it were AK. Calling with 3 to a straight, with 3 to a flush? All this seems very silly to me, but maybe the difference between me and the pros is huge 💀

@7:56 if you’re only jamming 22s-99s, AQo on 35 BBs and raising all strongest hands to 9 BBs will it not be super easy to play against?
@kristoffernilsson6043
@kristoffernilsson6043 Жыл бұрын
Ofc it will, you should never only take one line with a certain hand ever, bad advice. What i would put in here is that mr BBZ is right that Lex isnt defending enough bbs, but it should still be abit random what action to take, so not to become predictable in the long run.
@00Beano
@00Beano Жыл бұрын
No because you’re not playing any post flop with these capped ranges where you have to make tricky defends with a capped range, you just get to realise all of your equity, obviously when you run into the top of their range you lose all of your chips most of the time but if they don’t defend against these rejams correctly then they are giving up a lot of EV and you make so much money just collecting their opens

What are the benefits of putting his last 50k in instead of just calling? I would think you'd want to try to knock him out at that point, though I also see leaving him with 50k IF you plan on using that against others.

I understand your point. I want to ask; why do you think that being a good player and being a good coach go hand in hand? I think those are 2 very separate things, and 2 separate skillsets truthfully, but interested to hear what you have to say. My point: Can't someone specialise in coaching players and communicating ideas and strategies in an effective manner? Jose Mourinho, for example, didn't play. I've seen you comment a few times on these free training videos so thought I'd message.

@grantclark2025 Soccer is such a bad comparison as you need to use your mental capabilities to train a soccer team, where the players need certain physical attributes to be good. So great minds in soccer can still suck at it because they are slow. In poker a great player may suck at teaching as he is an autistic wonderkid who cant articulate his ideas, but each coach need a very decent win rate as he should understand the concepts he teaches. He might be a slow but deep thinker which makes him a better coach than player

I think you guys don’t really let people know about variance. I’ve always won between 4-10 bb/100 adj since I started tracking myself that way. This year I have played 3500+ MTT’s. I have not won a single one. I’ve won over 130 lifetime online, my winrate is high, I still lose. It doesn’t matter what your winrate is. A single game is a lottery ticket. It’s all luck.

your are not good enough and don't have a good understand of ICM. Playing more doesn't mean nothing if you do same mistakes. There are a lot of people how streams bankroll challenges and some of them can easily do 1k to 100k in less than a year like woodstock and leojokura did. The bb/100 doesn't necessary translate to big wins in tournaments because they doesn't consider a lot of variables and depending what stakes you play 4bb/100 is really low.

GTO Wizards crew ran a bunch of simulations against a variety of tournament types and levels. They had three styles, ICM, Cev and half ICM/Cev. They found that ICM was the most profitable way to play at every stage of the tournament, including the very beginning. I say this because the ICM charts are way different than the Cev charts so by memorizing the Cev charts all the way down to mixing Q3o as a 3Bet bluff from BB to BTN you're actually playing the wrong range so why go through such pain staking details just to study the wrong range? Makes no sense, reminds me of the 2010's when people were saying "play Cev at the beginning and ICM near the end". Be curious to hear a rebuttal to this because it seems like a waste studying the Cev when you should only be studying ICM.

❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤Hello BBZ Poker, i am very impressed with your content and the confidence you project in your presentations. Please elaborate on any major tournaments or cash games you've played and won; live or online. Or please just elaborate on your major achievements in poker. Unlike other physical sports/games where physical abilities can limit the individual, that's not the case in poker and as such, ACTUAL performance and achievements matters. I generally favor coaches who also ACTUALLY play the game. That way subscribers can see that the coach can actually translate book or GTO knowledge into actual profitable plays and not just sitting behind a nice screen or studio. I am not saying that's what you specifically do. Jonathan Little and Razor Edge both very high profile coaches in poker, and they play all the time; sometimes they win,sometimes they don't- but they are in the battle with their students and subscribers. I am looking forward to your feedback, thank you.
