Impressive...most impressive! I love the curved hilt and lightsaber as a whole...It’s an unpredictable blade and hard to counter as it penetrates any lightsaber offense, defense or block. In Episode 2 Dooku defeated the Master of Defense, Obi wan Kenobi, because it’s blade (as shown in this video) is able to make a curved strike, making this the perfect fighting style to be victorious in lightsaber combat. The fact is this curved fighting style is beyond finesse...I have been looking forward to make my own lightsaber in UltraSabers. I would have appreciate this video even more of it was a longer “how to” instead of a short “analysis” video... but you made an impressive introduction and a well done analysis... I recommend watching the movies and tv series where Dooku fights to learn the basics...

the dooku flourish is classic fencing showmanship, it used to be from what i read that fencers in italy sometimes rather than duel would show how quick and controlled there skill with a blade was by doing flourishes, as a sign of skill, what dooku is doing is just showing them that he isnt fighting seriously, because when he fights yoda his flourishes are totally different and more defensive

Watch the footage of Dooku... he has a very flashy syle with a ton of sweeping strikes. One handed strikes are common, but he often relies on two handed techniques to maneuver the blade around. Another important thing that you will notice about Dooku's style is his footwork! He is very mobile and uses his footwork to help him move around the battle space and keep his opponents off balance. That's one of the reasons why he is able to face multiple opponent's with ease. If he were a stationary fighter, he would be picked off by his enemies as they move around his defenses. This is not a lazy stance for sure!

i loved the curved hilt but i hate how no one wants to teach you how to do tricks with it. you can find tricks for lightsabers, staff lightsabers and even two lightsabers but none for the curved hilt. i have messaged these channels to teach how to do tricks with the curved hilt saber but no one ever responds unfortunetly. sucks because dookus is my favorite lightsaber.

Wouldn’t this style actually very unwieldy and unrealistic? It’d make it way more difficult to use than anything. For example in your first move, why couldn’t your opponent just parry you and slice through you? I think it’s just cool looking and as a concept (although I think it looks dumb and impractical) but in practice it would just get you killed faster

Wouldn't hurt to build up strength in your dominant saber hand by practicing fencing movements slowly, as even in real duels fencing blades and standard one handed blades weighted the same.

Shadow Fall Well aside from the flashy moves used in the movies for artistic beauty, makashi is simply based off of real life fencing. The hilt is similar to my sport saber. Considering how light the blade would be in the Star Wars universe, the style would be very agile and quick. If your opponent parries an attack you can counter parry or counterattack. However, when people try to use this style irl they usually get owned from what I’ve seen.

While this is an interesting vid, have to put the dislike for the “he’s a fencer” aspect. Most of his moves are not rapier or ‘fencing’ in the way people assume. It’s much closer to saber and Hollywood sword fighting, but then again most of the other forms are also hollow bastardized sword styles too so there’s that
