Fantastic video, for me close fighting is pretty tough and confusing but am decent at long range.

+Fight SCIENCE ....It's my pleasure,Sifu. I have to admit, although everybody has something to teach, but as such if I had to name one, I would rate your channel as the number one in self-defense.

very good training and survival tips. Question? How do you know when a strike is coming. what do you watch for to know what strike or kick is coming. so you can defend correctly or effectively?
@fightscience7 жыл бұрын
tony hodges my suggestion is to read the shoulders, this will give you a good indication of a left or right punch. Also pay attention to the guys stance, which leg he has forward (don't rely on this though). Hope that helps you. Have a great day.
@tonyhodges91277 жыл бұрын
Ok yes that help. I was wondering if any movement happened some part of the body would have to tell.
@fightscience7 жыл бұрын
Usually the shoulders move before the hand. Most people generate power from the shoulder followed by the hips. Hence why I said read the shoulders.

I have a question. I am an extremely unathletic and weak guy. If I decide to start working out, what should be my focus, so that it would increase my chance to win a fight?
@Heisenberg3557 жыл бұрын
As the comment above me stated, compound movements are very good - u can stick with them a very long time. I would suggest u doing a fullbody-workout. My recommendations would be push-ups/benchpress, pullups/rows, squats/leg press (beginner exercise/intermediate exercise), and some sort of core exercise, which involves the obliques. In terms of sets, u can do 5x5 (5 reps per set, 5 sets), or, what i think is better for beginners, 4 sets with 12 reps. Always do the exercises in 100% correct form and focus on the muscles you use, so u put more stress on them and geet a good mind-mucle connection.

sir I have a question,when someone is puching without stopping what should I do,I know I can defend myself,but I does not found it correct.
@TheGreatnessHD7 жыл бұрын
Suyash Satpathi if he's rushing you with punches, and not with proper footwork shoot for the legs and take him down. If you don't feel comfortable with that, keep distant and set up a counter punch with timing to offset his attack. For example, tell yourself "after 3 steps back im a throw a straight punch". One he runs into the punch, they will definitely be more stunned and that's when the fight is in your favor. Good luck.

do you guys train in Chi Sau
@fightscience7 жыл бұрын
+Stephen Mouwad yes of course, you couldn't call yourself a Wing Chun school otherwise. Why do you ask?
@stephenmouwad78147 жыл бұрын
awesome i was just wandering because i was went to two different Wing Chun schools and one was focused on Chi Sau and the other said it was useless thanks for the help.
@fightscience7 жыл бұрын
+Stephen Mouwad interesting... I wouldn't go as far to say Wing Chun Chi Sao is useless, but I would add that if that's the only thing you do then you are not fully prepared for real life fighting. That's the problem with many Wing Chun schools today, some only do Chi Sao. You still need to spar (with and without gloves) hit bags, focus pads, and work your fitness conditioning just like any other martial art, if you want to be fully prepared for a fight.
@stephenmouwad78147 жыл бұрын
so which school should i go to because they are same distance away from me ??????
@fightscience7 жыл бұрын
That's a tricky question, as I don't know the quality of either of the schools. Guess you are going to have to try both and see which one suits your needs. basically if you motivated by Self Defence, then make sure that the Wing Chun school you go with teaches this in a realistic manner. Hope that helps you. Enjoy your day.

When you're getting pummeled with a flurry of punches, this isn't going to work, especially if your adrenaline is up... plain and simple. Might as well cover up the face and rush in with a tie-up. In my 8 years of security, this has never worked.
@fightscience6 жыл бұрын
In my 35 years in security. It has worked. Thanks for watching my friend.
@aaronswenson18656 жыл бұрын
So you're telling me that you can rely on fine motor skills, and expect where most of the assailants punches are coming from to counter it? No. This isn't practical. If you've done security for 35 years, you should know better. Grabbing for a punch exposes the face and will either get your jaw or orbital socket broken, and if your adrenaline is going and in fight-or-flight mode, that makes it even worse. That's how people watching KZbin videos get hurt.
@aaronswenson18656 жыл бұрын
...you're telling me an assailant is just going to sit there and take a beating after throwing a right-cross, right as you demonstrated in the beginning of the video? Absolutely not. He will withdraw and try something else, c'mon now...
@macktruk137 жыл бұрын
Dr great tips...but why do you always beat on that particular assistant so bad? He is in many of your videos and he always seems to get more impact than other assistants
