I used to play with nunchucks. They were fun but for me to risky for combat due to the rebound. Nice to see that you're training for it.

in self defense they are basically a flail, dont treat it as a stick treat it as a sword, as long as u follow thru u will rarely get hit.

@@K0nc3pt10n Thank you! They are definitely a fun weapon to train with. If you have a bag or solid tree to train with you can practice light strikes till you get used to redirecting them after your strikes connect. Foam or Rattan are great to start with because if they do rebound it won’t be as bad compared to different wood or steel
@Dreaded_WolfАй бұрын
@@idkirdk5143 This is true! Flail’s were a very effective weapon on the field back then as well

Nunchaks are formidable weapons, but they have a single problem: you cannot stop immediately the weapon, you need to do a few more movement until stop it in its initial position.
@Dreaded_WolfАй бұрын
@@kalimaster0807 Yes this is true. The best thing you can do in my opinion is try to redirect after your strikes to combo or move back into another stance quickly

Hi just wondering why do you go nunchucks with chain? Aren't they heavier and slower?
@Dreaded_WolfАй бұрын
@@JC-xp5bd I like both equally, I actually use my cord ones more often because it rains a lot in the forest’s I train at and sometimes I practice in the water so I won’t damage my chained ones. Also it really depends on the type of wood used for the nunchaku. Some are very light and others may be heavier even if with chain or cord. Rattan with Chain are the lightest ones I’ve used.
