I just wanted to say thanks for all your gopro tip vids Mitch. I just got my first gopro ever, and you 'helped' me with choosing my settings, updating the firmware, which gopro to buy, and software to edit, filters and accessories to get. Now I'm learning to keep steady while using my evo & and will be attempting to scuba with it next week. THANK YOU Mitch!!! You Rock!!

Nice footage. You may also tell your friend diver that spearfishing is only allowed when free diving...

That is only true in some states or regions. It's legal in many places around the world
@seikibrian86415 жыл бұрын
Thierry Kieffer "...spearfishing is only allowed when free diving..." False. Saying "only" shows a lack of world view. It depends on where you are, what you're fishing for, etc. Spear fishing with scuba is allowed in many places for eliminating invasive species, for example. And in some places it's legal for sport fishing for food fish.

are you guys serious about spearfishing is bad while scuba diving? i usually take mine for protection but i have speared fish while diving. For you to say " That not fair" is the same as fishing a really good spot with a fishing pole. i also eat what i catch or shoot, but im also here in Texas. great Video thanks Mic.

Magenta or red??? I would be more than hapy if you can help me with this so I can make a good buy decision. Thank you a lot!

Not sure it is fully appreciated, but the SRP Tray handles form a 16:9 aspect when viewed from behind and is a very useful way to frame your GoPro shots. If it is within the handles as you look from behind, it will be in the shot. One more comment, cut out the upside down segments as a whole before editing, is much easier to rotate the clip and then edit than edit into smaller clips and then have to rotate each one individually. Thanks for the tips,

First off I have to say that I'm a fan of your work. You have many great tips for all GoPro users! :) The diving, on the other hand, makes me cringe :( As other people have pointed out, SCUBA + spearfishing = bad idea. And my main issue can be easily summed up in one word; STREAMLINING, or rather the lack thereof! We divers are visitors in the underwater realm, and we should act accordingly :)

Hi mic. Loving the tips. I work as a dive guide for seal snorkeling here in Cape Town, South Africa and am lucky enough to have my gopro with. The depth doesn't generally exceed 7m so I haven't bothered with a filter yet, but shoot everything using Protunes for post editing. My question is, do you use Protunes while shooting underwater or do you leave the filters to do everything? I use a bobber for filming forward but would like more stability so am looking at the two hand mount. Could you have a look at a few of the videos I've shot and perhaps give some tips? Also maybe a video on Colour correcting underwater video that has been filmed in Protunes? :) many thanks for the awesome tips! Keep them coming! :)

Hey Mic, The video was really helpful, I'm planning on purchasing a GoPro in the near future. When filming underwater, Is it recommended to use a headstrap? I want a POV kind of video, but I am afraid that It would shake the whole time. Greetings from Israel.

Love your videos man.. I am going scuba diving soon for the first time. I have a GoPro hero 6 and a hero 7. I have also a gopole and a hand strap which I think I will use both at the same time, So for best stabilization which one should the hero 6 be on? The wrist strap or the gopole? Hero 7 has inbuilt stablisation . SO I would want to mount the hero 6 on the least likely to shakiness

Wow this guy is getting a lot of heat for how he dives and spearfishing with scuba. Ok we know it's not cool to affect the coral reefs but seriously, if you dive, you will sometimes bump into coral. Now the spearfishing thing with tanks. I haven't dove the Florida Keys in awhile or Hawaii, but spearfishing with scuba was never an issue. Going after lobster wasn't either. I also hunt with a rifle equipped with a scope, do I think I have an edge on the animal I hunt? Yup. But does the animal automatically pop up in front of me? Nope. The odds get even less when I hunt with a bow. So for all of you complaining about spearfishing with scuba, you probably do all your hunting and fishing at the grocery store, while picking up a meal through the drive-thru. This guy is giving tips to help you. Take it for what it's worth and stop complaining.
