I must say, this simple video explanation on Protune really helped me understand what is for. In simple terms, if you use gopro just for fun, then no need to have protune "on". if you like to edit your videos or are a professional gopro user, you might want to have protune feature turned on. Thanks Mic! I've always had protune off because people say that it impacts battery life and harder to edit than camera raw. Now I see how easy it can be to use it in post production

Great video explaining what Protune is used for, and the settings you prefer. I agree getting to know the GoPro settings menus and shooting a few practice shots without Protune enabled is great advice. Protune isn't that difficult for anyone with some software graphics and photography basic knowledge. I'd encourage anyone to jump right into Protune and play that's the best way to learn.

We just bought the Go Pro 4 black. So far we have screwed up everything!! Horrible grainy look. No crispness. No concept on how to use the settings. Took forever to get it hooked up to my I pad. It still goes off and on and drops it. We have to start all over! Ugh!! Loved your videos!! Dear Lord did not think this would be so hard!! Thank you so much for explaining what the heck Protune was and when to use it!! How do we get back to basic settings from the factory. As new beginners do we need to change any settings? Thank you for your help! I will be going through each of your tips!! Any beginner advice is so helpful!!! I have the air 2 I pad with 64 gb. Waiting to get it working and looking good like I see on the tube 😀😊

I recommend filming in 1080p 120 frames per second. For photos 12mp is best. Just make sure that you keep protune off

I got my GoPro a day ago and i turned on Protune because i thought it would be fun to edit and customise my photos and videos but i don't think I'll faff on with that anymore. I recently had to choose between buying a Sony AS100 or a GoPro +3 Black. I nearly went with the Sony for the image stabilization, but went with the GoPro because of the Protune feature. I absolutely love it. It's like a totally Pro feature on a camera that's less than £300. I just wish my DSLR and Camcorders had the same feature.

I'm curious about the video of why not to use Protune in low light. On my GoPro Hero 6 I always use protune in low light, especially to set up the ISO higher.

MicBergsma Awesome video and channel, loved all the tips! So if I understood correctly, Underwater footage - Protune CamRaw. Outdoor footage - Protune Auto and Low Light coniditions - ProTune off? I'm an amateur video editor as its a hobby of mine but I love to use GoPro Studio in conjunction with Adobe Premiere so I'm learning more and more about colour correction.
