Thank you for taking the time to post your video. Enjoyed it. Stayed in the Jomtien area many times, always found it to be a more pleasant area than downtown Pattaya. Maybe a place to consider retirement in about 4 years. That or a little house on the darkside. Some very good value houses over that side of town.

You know Steve, in four years, I suspect it'll be hard to imagine the changes that'll have taken place in the Pattaya/Jomtiem area. Several weeks ago I drove with the Ms. South down Beach Road and I was gobsmacked at the horizon when I saw so many high rise buildings. When I came to Pattaya in 2002, Jomtiem, while not vacant, was close to it. Good luck for the future.

Thanks Brian, I've actually moved to a smaller unit, see my latest condo vlog. It's saving me around 3k per month. My rent is now 8k with bills projected at around 1k. (£211). ($258) Previously it was, (£281) and ($343) so it makes a big difference to someone living on a budget.

Nice tip about the cockroaches. People don't mention that type of thing. The condo looks great, spacious, lots of light, you can sit on the balcony with a bit of a sea view. The amenities look nice as well. Good to see it was being maintained. This flat would probably cost £3000+ in London. One of the many reasons I can't wait to come to Thailand, along with the weather, beaches, people and great food.

Yes its a really great condo. I could have had a studio 35 sq mts for 7/8k but i liked the extra space. This time last year I was living in Dublin city centre, paying 1920 Euro for two small bedroom flat in a shit area. No comparison to here at all. When are you thinking of coming here?

Nice to see the condo as today just watched Everything Pattaya vlogg on same Aqua condo where he’s showing a condo same size for 7000bt p mth on a higher floor not over the road. The studios look a bit cramped IMO. It’s a pity that all the new condo towers will be ruining the views In Jomtien.

I agree Gord, I think high condos should be a little bit from the sea, My condo is 55 sq mts but im happy paying the extra for it. Theres another style of condo with a dividing door or curtain but again looking over the pool.

yes you can smoke on the balconies as long as you dont flick your dog ends over the balcony. Thanks for the informative video Gary. The rental price you mention is if you rent for a year or more correct? I always found it a little difficult to rent something for 1 or 2 months and the price was usually much higher. Was the 30k per month including rent or just food and bills etc? Yes that.s a year but lots are doing one and two months now just to get some occupancy numbers. Yes the 30kis total spend. Like I say, I lead a simple life like i used to at home, ill have a beer at home, I've always got a bottle of local rum in, £10 for a liter but im not a big drinker, im out with a friend every fortnight for a catch up. If you rent short term it is going to be more but still cheaper than hotel/

Currently you can enter on a 45 day tourist visa and extend it once for 30 days at a cost of 1900 baht. About £50

I have a couple of questions if you have a moment? 1) What would you recommend as a place to stay for the 1st few days that I arrive? Somewhere with reasonable facilities and price but flexible, so I can easily move a condo once I have found one I am happy with. How long do you think the process of saying yes to a condo and actually moving in would take? 2) Looking to meet lot of new friends and Ex Pats- Are there any condo blocks you could recommend where there are lots of like minded people live? Hi ted, first thing what's your style of living, Party animal, out couple times a week or a chilled person like me, that's important to decide where your going to live.. You can virtually find a condo, do the paperwork and move in next day but id take a couple weeks in a hotel just to find the area, Im in Jomtien because its quieter for me, If i need a night out i'll go to pattaya, its £2.50 by bolt taxi or 20p by bus. once you decide where you want ,then u can just visit a few condos and ask the question. Your going to need a visa, check out the coffee and visa vlog , but I'm always here to ask, There's lots of expats, I don't really mix with them myself only because the ones I see are sitting all day scoffing beer, I've a few Ausssies who I meet up for a coffee once a month. I've an American that I hang out with once a fortnight but we talk regularly, If you like a beer and a game of pool there's loads of them around, just find one that suits your style. I can recommend a nice hotel I've used for years in Pattaya, close to the action but not noisy, Nature View Hotel, Ur looking at £20 a night . If ive missed anything give me a shout,, Happy to help. Being ReTHAIred in Asia what else am I to do?

I had budgeted for £1500 per month all in. Have a few health issues, so expecting the medical insurance to be hefty. However If I can get away with any less.. I would be very happy . A condo in Jomtien seems like an ideal location for me. A sea view would be excellent. but guess there will be a cost for that. I'm hoping to find plenty of friends and participate in a few hobbies and sports to pass my time once in Pattaya. I play Lawn Bowls and Tennis, so I'm hoping to pursue those. I am also planning to take up fishing, and maybe golf? Its not all physical stuff thought I like the odd board or card game as well. Hopefully I will meet a few like minded people. @@martinturner5314 setting up the channel has taken a bit of work but really i just chilled for first few months. There's lots of condos with sea view and although they arn't hugely expensive, !2/13 k per month your going to be living in a shoebox, 27 sq mts isn't big, pretty much a big room even though its advertised as a one bedroom condo. Fat chance. Im 10k for 55 sq mts and its great. There's loads of older condos around but id give them a swerve, Loads of golf courses around and golf society's, get into one of them, I'm thinking game with buggy and female caddy is around 1500, short of £40.£15000 per year is great, u will live well on that. try southern Cross for a health insurance quote, My American friends use it. Also , follow a guy on You tube called Everything Pattaya, hes right into condo tours. So are you in Oxford its self or outside?? I was ops manager in The Bear at Woodstock for two years before I escaped lol

So much choice, I'm going to be very busy the 1st few days /weeks deciding whether to go budget or splash out a bit. Either way I'm looking forward to chilling out and not having to go to work in the cold wet weather during the winter. I currently live in Wheatley, 6 miles from Oxford, just on Jnc 8 of the M40. Of course I know of the Bear in Woodstock, too expensive for me , lol. My Mum passed away 2 years ago, and we are in the process of selling her property. This is due to be completed next week. That will give me some pocket money for Thailand. Don't want to get bored, so I may try and pick up some part time work in Pattaya as well. May go down the classic TEFL route. Hi Phil, are you going to be here for a long time or just a few months? a year lease term will get you much more favourable term than month to month. This is Acqua Condo on same soi as the night market and 250 mts from the beach. It is well maintained, and the staff are lovely. There's 1000s of empty condos in the Jomtien area. If you need any help, don,t hesitate to give me a shout. I look forward to meeting up for a beer.

Deborah, I believe there are some available, but it is high season here and prices will be high Their seems to be owners who employ their own agents. The property is looked after by Entrust. You could try googling that/ Also just google Condos for rent in Pattaya. Excellent advice about walking or driving around and popping into places that take your fancy. I did just that and found a perfect place here in central Bangkok in a road I thought I couldn't afford. I also like the location, 250m to night market and 250m to the beach - but where are you? Jomtien Beach Condos? And what's the size of the condo? I disagree that the view is that special. There are condo buildings up and down the length of Jomtien Beach Road that look straight out on to the water - this view is mostly houses, with water in the distance. Koh Larn might be 10-12 mins by ferry but it takes at least that much again to get to Pattaya and park etc beforehand. I think 10k is a great price for that location. Thanks for the video. yes mine is a 55 sq mtr condo, In Acqua Condos, top end of beach rd close to second road 12 mins walk to Rumpho Market, I like it a lot and the location suits me just fine. Maybe ill check out something else when my lease is up, Ill be going to India for 2 months next year and 1 month to Vietnam as well but ill definitely be returning to this area after it.

I know of places in Pattaya that do that type of thing for !0k baht per month but not sure about condotel, I'm sure there are some in Jomtien. Its cheaper here if you do long term agreement.

Hi Gary. Very nice and informative video. I will be heading over for long term, from Texas, either this October or next March. Would you happen to know if The Acqua is pet friendly? I have learned from my research and videos such as yours, that the Jomtien area condos have more of a chance to be pet friendly, then Central Pattaya. My girl is 14 years old and 4.2kg and like most Americans and their dogs, we are a set pair. I have located several locations that are pet friendly, in Jomtien, but haven't researched that building just yet. Like you, I don't drink all that much, so my priorities are being on a baht bus route and easy access to bites, and that is a good condo location. Thanks! Cheers!

This is only a few years old, well maintained, There's no noise from the Soi its on, There's nothing else on this soi and also 6 speed bumps on the road. No, i didn't get a Covid discount. You say ur budget is 30,000 then u add plus entertainment. How much do you expect to spend touring and whoring? so your budget isn't 30k. Hope you can find something your happy with. but believe me your visa costs are incorrect. Do u think when u have a video u don't still need to pay for it. Do your homework my friend. @@POMOZKI condos are far better value than hotels at every level. if your worried about noise ask for a higher floor with less traffic or a room at the end of the corridortheres a condo block overlooking me that hardly has any occupants and they are happy to do 3 month lets. Check out the Grand jomtien and see if its any good, its 200 meters from me on secont road, walk straight down soi 9 opposite to beach road

Tony, most condos and hotels of a decent size have pools, only guesthouses wont. You might be the only person in a condo pool. they are generally not over used.

Must be one of the easiest things to find now in Pattaya or Jomtien . There must be thousand for sale/rent. At present they cant give them away. Just remember if you ever want to sell it you won't be able unless you loose moneys. Tip always rent. If you have any problems you can always move.

Now I've decided to definitely move to Jomtien and every agent has told me prices have risen since then and more people arriving post-Covid, less bargains to be had. I looked before I came to this condo and was very tempted with a bigger condo for same price with an amazing beach view but I really had my heart set on Acqua. No view, bur I did say before not to rent a condo for the view

Now im still up early and get out about 3 days a week walking along beach road and the other days , having a leisurely breakfast the going for a swim. I have a few hours on the balcony doing whatever then grab a bit of lunch. Ive got a couple of videos to upload this week so im keeping busy. Thanks so much for your concern. Depends on how old you are Scott, ur pension and how much women ur used to, That's the bottom line'. I know a guy who i met about 5 years ago and i recently met him on his bike, he came with £250k 9 years ago and he's broke, he's scraping a living teaching online . Drink and women broke him and no discipline. Its ok retiring here but u need to fill your time wisely. Hope that gives you some kind of answer, The real answer is can u live on ur pension and is it 35k/40k a month

Yes it is a years deal , I was paying 920 euro part share on a two bedroom flat in Dublin city centre. Lots of nice big studio condos for 6/ 8 k per month but are older. Girlfriends are like the weather, unpredictable. Honestly unless you really need one 24/7 I would think about it carefully, Girlfriends here are looking for a minimum of 10,000/ 15,000 baht per month then you gotta feed them, water them and buy them clothes. Do urself a favour, stay single and rent by the hour.
