Over $4K for photos!?!? The target audience must be millionaires… Like really, spending more than a months salary on photos in the age of iPhones is nuts.

For that price, they often do retouches and stuff which is time consuming and requires skill and would include video as well

that's actually low range price photographers. they're gonna do editing, researching, they are gonna be doing work not only at that time they are at your wedding but before and after, they'll be spending hours after the wedding skimming through and editing, you'll be paying their hours on the day and the type of equipment their using, some would have a whole package that includes a wedding photo album already or a package with either engagement session or prenupor both then if the guest list is big and the timeline is long, they would probably have a second shooter. Mid range and high-end are way way more expensive. A lot of photographers would not also agree with only giving "raw" (actually unedited photos) inorder for the client to pay less because a lot use the actual "raw" type instead of jpeg during the wedding day, that means its gonna really need to be edited and their fee usually includes the editing process since most of their time is consumed with after the wedding work.

what you can do is find photographers that has just been starting out but that would be risky unless you have a low guest count, short wedding timeline and you personally know them, you can save through that.

I still think it’s nuts though I did find it is a low average. 😬 I got an 4hr package with a discount for much less and will indeed get candid phone photos for the rest. I just think that kind of spending for one part of one day is way way too much. Like that’s a small home deposit… but for those who have that kind of money lying around, good on ya
