How to find the ULTRA SECRET Room? (Red Key Guide)

3 quick notes: 1 - there exists the idea that the usr prioritizes being next to a special room on the floor. However this is far from being confirmed and you can clearly see in the video that there are multiple examples that speak against that idea, soo that's why I didn't include it in the vid! 2 - there are multiple veeeeery niche exceptions that can lead to weird usr spawn situations or wacky mechanics. However, I don't see the point of showcasing them in such a guide. You want to maximize your chances of finding it so you wouldn't go and check for weird niche locations first anyway.... 3 - just ignore my "german" pronunciation of "ultra" xD I noticed it myself while editing but I didn't want to redo all the recordings x.x

With a red key you can also check for Delirium boss room which size is 2x2. Red key will open a room, but it will not show on map and also will be a boss door

it's also worth pointing out that the 13x13 room grid will always be centred on your initial spawn on that floor. From the room you start a floor in, you'll always have 6 rooms up, down, left and right, as well the rooms to fill out the grid obviously. Useful information for the Red Redemption challenge.

Just to clarify, the myth about Red Rooms is absolute bullcrap because streaming even a remotely ok quality video in deep web is absolutely impossible due to super low connection speeds there, that's why all their websites look very simplistic

Note on the 'red rooms cannot spawn next to boss rooms' There are 2 exceptions to this. Sometimes in the hush boss room. A red room can spawn in place of the void room. But this is only on challenges if i'm correct. And on the void. For whatever reason

red key can be used to find Delirium's room too by going around the boss room that you think is his you can see how big it actually is. not that finding Delirium is really that hard without it either, but the more you know!

The red key is great if you get it early enough. I think, I usually find the US(S)R around 70% of the time which really adds up against the later bosses.

I'd say it's one of the best items in the game, though I rate Stairway a little bit higher. Yeah money can be a problem but if you ever do get Stairway I think the smart play is to just convert all of your bombs into money via the donation machine. Now that T Keeper exists there's no reason to ever feel bad about blowing your dono machine, you can just farm the first floor for all it's money, donate, restart and do it again.

This just happened: I got it 1st floor with The Forgotten, without having any archivements, found 2 USR, it carried me to Boss Rush and when I was on Womb II ready to go to Mom's Heart and Hush, I got to the Error Room cuz I didn't know about the 13x13 grill thing and it take to the Cathedral and since I have the Negative I only killed Isaac and now I want to die

If I try to find an USR then I try to imagine what the floor would look like if there was an additional red room on every possible wall and then just follow the regular secret room spawn rules.

OK so first: awesome video! I was waiting for someone to do a red key guide and yours is exelent. Just three verry minor things: 1. The red key whisps actually have a chance to proc in every new room, not just new red rooms. 2. Its worth mentioning that red rooms can give access to challenge rooms you wouldn`t get in otherwise(without getting your health down to one heart or gaining full health, whichever one it is). The door even stayes open after leaving the room, unlike secret rooms where you have to use a bomb if you left and came back again. 3. It is possible to get softlocked if you`ve opened the red door to a room adjecent to the usr without entering it and the floor has curse of the maze. The entrence to the usr only spawns if you`ve entered the adjecent room, but curse of the maze can still teleport you into the usr, which you then can`t exit without some means of teleportation. Red rooms are possible to spawn behind boss rooms if you are at the void. Red Key is also very helpfull to find/avoide Delirium.

note that on Dark Room, you won't fall into an I Am Error room at the edge of the map. but you can find a sacrifice room to tp back to the Dark Room (got an R key by grinding like this once ;) )

You can get red room near boss room with trinket Crystal Key, I got it on 3 floor and this trinket built a treasure room right to boss room, also, when I was in Void and beat Delirium, this trinket built room up to deliriums boss room and there was a red super secret room.

I don't bother looking for the ultra secret room as they're difficult to find. If you look for the I Am Error room instead you're almost certain to find it as you just have to travel in a straight line in any direction. But make sure you complete the floor before going in as you can't usually get back out again

So apparently with enough tears on the screen and using tear detonator insta kills both of ultra greeds phases sometimes. i managed to do that twice before the entitre game crashed and i couldn't continue. i took screenshots of those items but i don't know which exactly are required to re-create that.

it doesn't give angel items anymore, that's what it used to do. Now it gives "red" items, which are items, that are... red in some way. For example pentagram is partially red, or brimstone, apple etc. Every Item that has red color in it's sprite can spawn there

Yeah, I don't get it... Every time when I use the red key in the top secret room , there's a 70% chance I get the usr, so Idk if I'm just stupidly lucky or there are more rules to this stupid room...Also, this item is busted if you manage to get 9 volt+ the battery +book of revelations a couple of charging beggars in the red rooms (I've literally explored half of the entire "red" map part with this combo) … amazing item

Yeah there has to be some sort of priority be in place for the usr generation, but the ones listed on the wiki seem reeeaaally vague to me and don't reflect what I expierienced so far a all, so I wouldn't feel confident to state them as "facts"
