How to Find the Vertex of a Parabola

After watching this, you'll be able to find the vertex of any parabola! There are two ways to do it, and they're both easy. This is NOT completing the square.

SVPrelude It's just an algebraic rule, the parantheses always lie meaning it's the opposite sign (at least that's what my algebra teacher said)

It's being flipped because it is a change along the "x" axis when being graphed. The function notation being f(x)=(x-h)+k h=-7 When graphed h>0 translates to the left, while h0 translates up and k< translates down.

From the last equation that you resolved: y= (x-6)(x+2), I plugged the X value which was 2 into the standard from equation, {-(x^2+4x+12)]... instead of the original equal, yet ended up with the same result, is that okay? Or would it be better just to evaluate with the original equation given, to avoid mistakes?
