I saw a tree display that I think is best decribed as "Hansel and Gretel" it had loads of forest/woodland motifys then lots of gingerbread and toned down candy decorations - absolutely loved it!

So glad you're feeling better. We missed you! We had the bubble lights when I was little, so fun! We've had entire aisles here in the US the past maybe 5 yrs devoted to the Grinch in some hobby/craft stores, but not Whoville, but also have aisles with the fun candy decor. I lean towards modern rustic neutrals, so my livingroom tree has browns, copper, gold and ivory. My bedroom and bathrooms are neutral. My kitchen is open to the livingroom so it is neutral too with a minimal gingerbread theme and touches a red. My office is full on Santa and red though! So guess I'm all over the place!

I am a timeless traditionalist! 🎄I am drawn to the classic red, green and white colour combination! I love plaid, nutcrackers (the coloured ones) and a big tree filled with nostalgic mismatched ornaments! Nice to see you again Jacqueline! 🙂

Thank you Mary! You can never go wrong with a traditional Christmas style! Certainly how I remember my house growing up☺️🎄

I was always a timeless traditionalist, but one year, after going on a colorful Christmas home tour, I tried to introduce some bright pinks and turquoises into the color scheme. My family balked! So, I kept with the traditional theme in most of the house but set up a pencil tree in my living room with the brighter, retro-style ornaments. Win-win!

I'm glad that you feel better and back to do videos. Should I be vorried by the fact that I recognize my self in all this types? In some more than others for sure.

Retro Revitalist for sure. I have decorations my grandparents had. I do add touches of nature with it. Thank you for doing what you do.

Mine isn't there, but as a pagan I always use lots of greenery brought indoors with the prettiest collected and/or hand made ornaments for the tree. Lots of stars everywhere too and Green Man motifs. A couple of years ago my local garden centre had a woodland theme with lovely animal ornaments; as well as the iconic robins, also other birds, including owls, plus foxes, hares, hedgehogs, badgers and squirrels, etc. That's my absolute ideal! Really interesting video. Thank you. :)

As someone who has never lived in a house with central heating or any other source of heat except a heater or a fireplace, my preference would be to keep white and all other shades of colors that remind you of snow and cold to a minimum. I don't want to be reminded that it's cold out there. I also don't care for decor that's dominated by gold, and generally don't care for things that I consider to be too kitschy. In general my favorite decoration styles are various academia styles as well as cottagecore and some styles that are kind of similar to cottagecore like French Provincial. I think I would just subtly add some Christmas elements into the existing style.

Just the video I needed while on a break from decorating! My style in general is English cottage meets Swedish cottage. My Christmas style has always been sparkling winter whites and silvers mixed with cosy lights, candles, dark blues and rich greens adding colour. Your video today gave me some ideas that would blend beautfully with my decorations. Happy holidays to you and all the best for a wonderful New Year!

I'm having an identity crisis! I'm so many of these! OK, just for the sake of argument I'll cross out Retro Revivalist and Candyland Creator (even though I have faux gingerbread, beaded fruit, knitted cupcakes and ice cream cone ornaments on the tree). That must make me a Traditional Polar Perfectionist with Glam tendencies. Love your videos!

Hi Gina! I think we all tend to mix up styles don't we? 😄 I used to decorate very much traditional with a touch of glam, and now I yearn for a nostalgic look, so am collecting retro pieces here and there😄 I just find them so fun (even the tacky pieces😆) 🎄 I can't resist them! 🤣🤣🌟☃️🎀 Happy Decorating & thank you!! ❤️

Having grown up in the 1960's and 70's in a family where my dad was a creative genius in a major advertising agency, I must say that nothing expresses the the true meaning of Christmas quite so well as a seven-foot tall aluminum (aluminium to the Brits) Christmas tree that is draped in gold garland rope and lit by the ever-changing colors of a buzzing, rotating, color-wheel.
