*Amazing on my skin:* Snowy Owl by Zoologist. Usually my skin disagrees with floral scents, but this one is cold and crisp enough to make me smell like a brand new book that's been freshly cracked open. It's mint without the sweet, with a molecularly subtle trace of coconut. This is a cold garden, blessedly far from the powdery/sweet florals that I always steer away from. Nothing frou-frou about this; she is mist off a waterfall and green. *Godawful on me:* Dear Polly by Vilhelm Parfumerie. I wanted to love this one so badly, since I often gravitate toward apple scents. On my skin, this opens with a burst of juicy red apple. But almost immediately after, the honeymoon comes crashing down, and the dry-down makes me smell like a dusty bowl of cough-inducing patchouli. Meanwhile, it gives an orchard picnic on my friend's skin. Perfume really does smell different on each and every person! Honorable mention to Coco Mademoiselle by Chanel. It is not for me, but it deeply comforts me to smell it. I have memories of my mom smelling like this whenever she hugged me after coming home from work.

Just a little bit correction, the term oriental notes is outdated. Now the ambery notes is the new term for that group of scent. Back then it's been a quite debate because using oriental term is projecting the stereotypical "exotic" (which also problematic word) asian.

I really recommend experimenting with how light or dark you prefer your eye makeup! Black mascara and eyeliner are the easiest to find but using another colour can make a big difference. I have brown eyes but if I wear eye makeup that’s darker than the darkest colours in my eyes it looks more intense and less harmonious. Both effects are good but you might have a preference! And since blue eyes are usually lighter than brown eyes this will probably make a bigger difference for you 💕 Personally I like my eyeliner to match the darkest colours in my eyes

You can also try colour combinations! Sometimes it can be fun to think of your eye colour as one of the colours in your makeup look. If you pretend the pink heart is the eyeshadow and the other heart is the eye colour you can imagine how eye colour makes a difference 1. 🩷🤎 2. 🩷🧡 3. 🩷💙 4. 🩷🩵 5. 🩷🩶 6. 🩷💚 Here’s some examples with two eye makeup colours to demonstrate in a different way! My eyes are brown 🤎 so these would be more subtle 1. 💛🧡🤎 2. 💚💛🤎 For your blue eyes 💙 something like these would be more subtle 1. 🩶🩵💙 2. 🩷💜💙 If you copied my first look 💛🧡🤎 without any changes it would actually look like this on you 💛🧡💙 See how you would have much more colour contrast than I did? Instead you could copy the effect like this 💛💚💙 Using green lets you connect yellow (or gold) to your blue eyes in a way that’s more similar to how I use orange to connect it with my brown eyes. You could still copy the original if you like it, the colour contrast is more bold and makes the eyes pop! But you can see how 💛💙 and 💛🤎 would need a different middle colour if you wanted to create a gradient effect Here we can imagine an opposite example, light blue or purple eyeshadow would be more subtle for dark blue eyes 1. 🩵💙 2. 💜💙 But create more colour contrast for amber eyes 1. 🩵🧡 2. 💜🧡 My last example is with silver eyeshadow 🩶 This is how a silver smoky eye looks with dark brown eyes 🩶🖤🤎 For light blue eyes I think this creates a similar effect 🩶💙🩵 Using lighter colours keeps the light/dark contrast between the makeup and the eyes similar to the original. Meanwhile, using a dark blue helps the silver eyeshadow to pop more like it did against the black! The dark blue is adding a new colour to the makeup, but it doesn’t add colour contrast so the look is still very cohesive. I think it maintains the intensity of the look better than dark grey would! Replacing the black with dark grey is more traditional than using dark blue. But silver and grey are more similar than silver and black so we lose some intensity. In this version the smoky eye becomes a softer look, more like this 🩶🩶🩵 Or we could simply copy the original look and have some extra light/dark contrast with the light blue eyes 🩶🖤🩵 All these versions of the smoky eye would be beautiful!!! They just prioritise different things. I hope this gives you some ideas for your blue eyes 😊
