How to fit a new Battery into your Audi A3

In this video Driveway Dudes Paul shows you how to remove the old and fit a new battery into an Audi A3 8P model.
According to the date stamp/etching on the battery it was fitted over 8 years ago and in the cold it was starting to have difficulty supplying enough power to start the car without the aid of a jump box.
This car has the battery under the bonnet/hood (other models may be similar).
Only tools needed are a deep 13mm socket, extension bar and ratchet (you can probably just use a 13mm spanner/wrench), a 10mm spanner/wrench, a wire brush (not necessary) a jump box (to keep power in the cars system so radio code, clock, etc remain active) and gloves (not necessary).
This procedure can be completed in 10 - 15 minutes.

can you use a battery charger instead of the jump box? if using jump box, just turn it on??

Good question. A jump box will keep the car powered while you change the battery. A charger may switch off when the battery is removed as there’s nothing to charge and it may detect an open circuit
