I had a crack on the bottom of my Exo Terra & just siliconed a closely sized piece of glass shelf onto the bottom and it’s held and worked like a charm.

My bioactive tank base glass broke when my daughter added a bunch of water after letting it completely dry out... Cold water and hot glass are not friends. Thank you so much for this SIMPLE and easy to follow video. :) Also, plexi sounds so much better for my usage too!

ok friend, looks great - but does silicone bind properly with plexiglass? In my experience, it doesn't really bind with any kind of plastic, at least not in the long run.

So far so good. I keep frogs in it and it’s been waterproof going since I made this video now you don’t obviously have to use plexiglass. You can go get glass cut to size if do 1/4 inch and use that. Honestly could even use wood sealed with pondarmor.

Thanks man. Is that 1/4 acrylic strong enough for a bio active? With drainage layer, 5” substrate, hard scape, etc?

Yes it is that’s exactly what I added to mine. Rocks max substrate to the lip of the tank. Working still to this day

@@SauceGotHerps its the same as the bottom the silicone will hold that glass in really good so make sure to cut all silicone

My daughter's snake aquarium is cracked on one side on the bottom. Since it's a $700.00 aquarium, it's a huge tank and I don't want to buy her a new one. She bought this one. What are your suggestions for the heating mat? It didn't touch the glass but I know that's what did it.

I stopped using heat mats a while ago. Use heat lamps instead. I find it works better

I have some rocks and soil all the way up to the top for this 24 x 18 enclosure and it’s doing ok however if you are going bigger you could try a local glass shop for plate glass will be the same price.

How do I fix it when can't open doors top part sags or is broken on both sides . Have to lift the top middle to open

I can use plexiglass on a glass aquarium? A side wall cracked on mine and I decided to try an ld fix myself. I has spare glass laying around. Failure at the cutting. So I took apart and old cracked aquarium my neighbors had. That was a bitch. But googone and fishing line helped get the seams apart, finally. Today is day 3. I am sill “mastering my cutting skills😂. I get nervous. And my take is a rimless with a fancy cut. I’m wondering bow do i need to take my turtles aquarium front off in order to glue in that side panel. Arrr what I do to save a few $ well $250

You may have to it really depends on the tank but once siliconed all inside the seam it should be good.
