Your kids & wife should be proud & grateful😊 I bought a brand new swing Ingenuity brand, not sure of motor type yet as I don’t have it apart yet but it quit swinging. Actually it swings when empty but when u add weight & put baby in, it quits. Sadly they don’t make stuff like they used to… Thanks for all the great videos.

Awesome fix! Bought a Glade freshner for $10 and motor was exact. Came apart exactly as illustrated. My motor actually still worked when I removed it from the gear but it was too weak to rock the swing. Works perfect now!

This video was a life saver! The swing is the only thing our little one will nap in and I contemplated for two days about buying a new one. Thankfully I looked up how to fix it and this video was the first one on the list. I had a problem finding the brown automatic sprayer like the one you used and the new versions which are white and tan have a different motor (which may still work but I know nothing about this kind of stuff). Fortunately I checked Dollar General and the DG brand automatic sprayer uses the one you need. Thanks!!!

I was all prepared to follow the tutorial because mine was having the same issue. So I had the motor in my cart and figured I'd start taking it apart while I wait for it. Took it all apart and surprisingly the motor was actually still running. Maybe there was a part not connected properly, because once I put everything back in place the swing started working again. But now I know how to fix it when the motor inevitably dies (10 year old swing haha). Thank you!

I've seen the auger move off the motor shaft also. Maybe that's what happened. Glad you're back up and running.

Cool brother!!! We bought the exact same Fisher Price swing second hand from a friend and it stopped swinging a month after we brought it home for our granddaughter. I was planning on opening it up and looking for the problem. You saved me the trouble shooting and even with my more troubling issue, where did I put the box of old motors and whatnot? So don't tell my family, but I'll be the BIG BAD GRANDPA and save the swing. Pricy little boogers.....

@@greiciul Try some DC3 32 mm from Amazon. Look under 6-12 volt DC electric motors. If you have prime, they will be in your hands within 2 days. Saw the video and was pleasantly surprised to see that his baby swing is the exact same as the one we have. So this repair will be a breeze. My motors will be here Monday.

Went to Dollar General and got the Air Wick Pure 24/7 and it had the exact motor I needed 500TB-18280. Swapped them out and it's running great at full power. Thanks for the awesome info!

TIP!!!! On another tutorial I found in the comments the part number for the supposed Air Wick motor. I ordered it for $5 off eBay trying to be more efficient. Looked identical. Attached it, worked but wasn’t powerful enough to move the swing. Flipped it around wondering if that was the problem... no difference. Went and bought the Air Wick in a last ditch effort, worked perfectly. Unfortunately now my swing cannot be repaired again because we had to cut the wires for 3 fixes. Bummer. I’d love to save someone else this trouble and I’m going to post this in several places. Buy the Air Wick!

Thanks for posting. This is very clever! I do have an issue with my swing. In the model I have, the housing on the motor doesn't allow me to access / remove it. It's attached to the "arm" which moves the swing. I'm considering "muscling" the plastic to squeeze out the motor. I'll update my post if I succeed.

I ran into a slight hiccup with a loud clicking noise but I just had to pull that part that I put on the motor up a little bit and adjusted around and I got the noise to stop. I just looked up Fisher-Price Cradle Swing motor. It's a very common motor which really ticks me off me off because it must be an issue. They are very easy to find on eBay or other sites. Mine was solderless but I had to cut off the connecter and connect the wires to each other. Very easy fix.

Hi, any idea in how to fix it if it doesn’t even turn on?? We had an outage in our house and a few things got broken, our dryer, garage door and our baby’s swing 😫 I’m refusing to throw it away I just hope I can get it fixed. Dollar General’s brand of automatic sprayer uses the motor you need. The new glade sprayers have a different motor than the one he uses in the video.

Different, smaller encased motor in the air wick I bought. Spent the time making a nylon holder to keep it in place. Seemed to work great, until it started slowing down and just couldn’t swing it for nothing. It was a valiant waste of time! Lol

Just saw the pinned comment about the motor change after I got the glade. So if your like me and have a 3d printer I have the stl file for an adapter. Takes the motor and rounds it off to be the same width as the old one and even has the screw holes on the front to line up. If you need it drop a comment uploading it to thingaverse later today.

@@carolinacarrillo7208 uuuuugh..these baby items I swear 😔 ..i dont know if you had stored it away and recently dug it back up for another little one, but Ide guess that there maybe a messed up wire in your plug in[obviously] but maybe try some canned air in the "separation sections" where the wire plugs into itself.. If I explained that clearly? If you're lucky its a faulty connection due to dirtiness within those separation plugs. Wild guess.

Bought the glade before reviewing comments. Small motor, kind of works but doesn't fit. Bought RF-500TB-12560 motors off Amazon. Worked until loaded then it burned up the motor with smoke and ran too slow. Now I am $20 and three hours into this wishing I would have just bought a new swing. Anyone know the actual model number needed? Needs to be variable speed, fast enough and have enough torque to swing the swing. Got some escalation of commitment going and want to try one more time hehe. I see in a comment someone said the 500TB-18280 works. Going to buy one of those and give it a shot. UPDATE: So while I was waiting for the 500TB-18280 to arrive I 3d printed an adapter for the small glade motor I had obtained initially, but even when fitting correctly that motor runs too fast and won't swing the swing correctly. However, once the new 500TB-1820 motor I purchased arrived, it worked and had the right power and RPMs to swing the swing correctly . This was the one I bought. a.co/d/4Efjj1c (link to Amazon) it was only $8.
