I really appreciate your diagnosis and proof. Recommend masking the areas you don’t want the sealant to cover with yellow frog tape. This will allow you to push the sealant into the gaps more aggressively and tool it to a smooth finish. Immediately remove the tape before the sealant skins over.

This is the best video by far to clearly, accurately, easily show anyone how to fix a leaking windshield using the exact same product being used in this video .... I followed exactly what he shows he's doing on a 1999 F350 diesel truck that had a loose seal along topside of windshield.... Cleaned it out thoroughly, dried it thoroughly and put this product in with original seal and let cure overnight and has been absolutely fine ever since

Why would a windshield be leaking like that?!
@BigAlRepairs Жыл бұрын
thanks
@LaneBrewer-t7d Жыл бұрын
Because the windshield in this car was changed at some point and proper installation methods weren’t followed causing the bond to not correctly adhere between the glass, urethane and body. They likely didn’t clean, prep or prime. This is why you should always choose a certified auto glass shop, make sure and read their reviews. I’m an auto glass shop owner/operator and fix hack work like this everyday. I do thousands of cars a year and none of my installations leak.
@pkginbro6456 Жыл бұрын
It could also be a dried out seal to, it’s not always because of a windshield change. We had it happen to our factory windshield.
@timothyhua1477 Жыл бұрын
Man you doing it all wrong and making it look like crap after awhile. Proper way to do it is remove the inside pillars and cock urethane along the seal and pressed it in and smooth it out with your finger.

@BigAl-15 ай бұрын
That is a great question. I should have mentioned that at the beginning of the video to make sure that the area is clean. I did rinse the area but it would be good to take the vehicle to the car wash and spray it off especially around the windshield when you have determined that is the problem. You should rinse it real well and then make sure that the windshield is completely dry before you add the sealant. Thanks so much for your question. Best of luck with your next DIY project and hopefully you will subscribe to Big Al Repairs.
