You put the Teflon tape on backwards. Thread the Teflon tape in the direction of the threads. if you're turning the shower head to the right the Teflon tape should also be threaded in that direction

Tape doesn’t help if your shower is leaking from the head where the water normally showers from. That is an issue in the cartridge handle most of the time.

Looks like you applied your teflon tape in the wrong direction. It should be clockwise, the same direction as you screw in the shower head, no?

I'm a lefty, so I end up doing a lot backwards. It would make much more sense to go the other way! It held tight and didn't leak, so all is good wrapping either way as long as it is sealed tight.

@@EricRosenberg wrong Eric it's only a one way thing if you wrap it counterclockwise then when treading something on in a clockwise direction it will pull the teflon tape off dont go around giving and agreeing with wrong info like its okay...

The leak does not come from the actual shower head, it is caused at the faucet where you turn the water on and off. Think about it if water is leaking from the shower head where is the water coming from?

You need the tape to make a good seal that prevents any water from slipping through. The teflon tape is pretty cheap so you definitely don't want to underdo it.

Does it leak when the shower is turned off, or only turned on? It could be you have a stripped pipe. Or maybe a non-standard size?

The threaded part is where the head spins on. The teflon tape goes where the head spins onto the end of the pipe. It was leaking from that meeting place, dripping down from the shower head.

That's not the cause of a shower head leak. The leak would drip through the shower head regardless of how much teflon tape you use. You also wound the tape in wrong direction....you need to wind it in direction you will screw showerhead back on otherwise you will undo the tape. Though a nice attempt to help someone, you should delete this video.
