How do you know if it’s the diverter or the hot/cold water faucet that is causing the leak?
@DIYwithMichaelBorders3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching & welcome to the DIY Raptor Club. Is water hot or cold? If warm, it’s your hot water stem. If cold, it’s your cold water stem. If water is visibly leaking from diverter or the diverter is performing poorly, we definitely recommend replacing diverter. Please keep us posted. Us DIY’ers need to stick together! 😎👍🔧🔩

Hot water seems to be an issue on a lot of the plumbing issues I've had over the years. Seems to leak more on the valves/lines. For instance I install a washer, the hot water line leaks more often or not then the cold...course either I have insufficiently tightened it or added enough teflon. Likewise as in this video my faucet gasket/rings tend to go bad.

How do I make the water stop dripping from the faucet after I turn everything off..its only the hot water no matter how hard I pull to close the hot water handle it doesn't stop slowly dripping and it now spins all the way around instead of off and on positions with the inbetween only

I have a question and maybe you'll know the answer. My tub faucet is doing something weird, not quite like this but it thought I'd ask. I turn off the faucet and its fine no water running. Within 10 or 20 minutes I return and it doing a steady drip of hot water. If I turn either faucet on and off again it stops temporarily again. Any idea what is causing that?

I'm here because I too have a leaking bathtub but don't actually care to repair because I'm searching for another apartment, so I'll let my family handle it when they get back. But I do need to turn the hot water off as I can't have that just drizzle. I couldn't find any gauge to turn the water off and then discovered that the water heater had a gauge ontop of it that directed to both hot and cold water, so I just turned that off. Is that okay?
@DIYwithMichaelBorders4 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching & that’s the shutoff valve to the heater itself. It will stop water flow to tub however it may also stop flow of water to other faucets throughout the house...depending on how your heater is configured. 😎👍🔧🔩
@CrossoverGameReviews4 жыл бұрын
@@DIYwithMichaelBorders Well, I only turned off one of them, the red one which was for hot water. It stopped all faucets with hot water but cold water runs fine. I live in an apartment and I can't find any valve of any kind to turn off the water. But I really just want a temporary solution until my family gets back and calls the landlord. I really want nothing to do with this apartment anymore so as long as this works, it's good enough. Thank you so much for the video and the instructions.
