best one i seen so far ps like he said be careful where you pry. don’t pry on the vvt electric solenoid that will break and oil will come out doh also most people miss why these belts slip when worn the little grooves widen out and the belt bottoms out so doesn’t get traction from the sides anymore. they actually give gauges away to check if it’s that. Tighten it all you want if the grooves are worn out and it will still slip on a yaris

I didn't take the splash guards off, but yeah. That helped a lot. Just washed my hands after getting it done. That F'n 14mm had to of been put on with an impact.

Is it common for the 14 mm bolt to seize up? My belt came off and when inwentnto put a new one on the 12mm came loose no problem. Now the 14 is close to getting rounded off

Its not common but it can happen, since that bolt seems to be tighter than the other and then u add rust to it to make it harder to loosen

I just had mine replaced by the dealership but a week later the squealing is worse. Should I try to tighten it like you do here with the crow bar?

They should take care of that at no charge if it was replaced by them just recently..if u press down in the middle does it have a lot of movement or does it not have much give? If it does then maybe it may just need tightening

well theres a lot more room to work if u lower the splash shield behind the passenger side wheel and that does make it easier to do

I replaced mine and the engine started to vibrate. I loosened the bolt placement by 1/2 from where the old one was. No more vibration car feels different now. Also it still squeals especially when turning the wheel. Why could that be?

Normally thats caused by the belt still slipping..so it may be slightly not up to tension

electric steering loads up the alternator and makes it slip air con will too and fan on high
