Thank you Ryan. I’m 66 years old and play with all kinds of engines for one of my many hobbies . You make a great point about the alcohol In gasoline . This has increases the lacquer effect IN A VERY SHORT TIME . 90 PERCENT OF SMALL ENGINE FAILURE IS A CARBURETOR FAILURE AND GENERALLY A SIMPLE FIX OF YOU HAVE SPARK . I LOVE THE OF OIL AND GASOLINE. ZZ TOP

Thanks for the feedback Jon! I only had ethanol fuel on hand until I started acquiring more equipment and seeing the effect. Actually, all of the equipment that I have currently is from fixing engines that I have found in the garbage. lol Definitely a worthwhile skill to have!

Very nice video better than many. I particularly like the explanation of how to adjust the carb "by ear" All of those 2 stroke chainsaws and weedeaters have the same Walbro carb although there are many many different configurations of the output and input tubes so you generally are NOT able to replace the carb with a new one like so many people recommend on various forums, if the equipment is older. In general there's 3 different kinds of Walbro diaphrams on the market, it's definitely a wise idea to take apart yours first if you are going to buy a carb kit which is a good idea to do. Engineered fuel isn't really necessary if you run your chainsaw or weed trimmer every couple of months during the winter and it's always fun to annoy the neighbors with the characteristic 2 stroke sound. LOL. But, the engineered fuel might be worth it for the couple extra dollars if you seldom use the gear. It also helps to top up the tank instead of leaving it empty since the gas won't evaporate as quickly if the surface area is small. Note also that if you are going to go the engineered fuel route, that the carb will need to be adjusted since that fuel burns a bit differently than gasoline and oil. With these small 2 strokes, the "ressurection kit" is new fuel lines, new fuel filter, new diaphrams, new primer bulb (if needed) and a good cleaning.

The head of a screw should rotate when turned, but I think I started at 2.5 turns backed out after having it screwed all the way in

Very informative it took you awhile to put some gloves on but its not necessary. Some sections of the video change volume on your voice. Have you played the video and listened? There are parts where you can't hear what you're saying but the good parts are as loud as a running trimmer. Great work though on the details and explanation. 👍🏻

I replaced the old carburetor on my weed trimmer; I had to spray carburetor. Now I still need to spray the new carburetor. Any suggestions. Thanks and God Bless.

They are times when, after running it, it might knock loose some more debris. You could try cleaning it out again. Sometimes it might take two or even three times. If it still is not running right, and you can adjust the carburetor, it might need an adjustment. Carburetors are also pretty inexpensive off-line and you could just buy a new carburetor altogether. If there is no improvement whatsoever when reassembling carburetor, you might be missing one of the tiny ports that need to be cleaned out or if your carburetor has an adjustment, it might need to be adjusted. I hope that helps. God bless!

Those are not gaskets. They're diaphragms. Usually, if ethanol based fuel is left in the system, it will harden the metering diaphragm. That's the one with the metal circle.

The 99 percentage problem with 2 strokes is the carburetor, remember that and fix all your junk when you need to use it😮.

True that. Use no ethanol gas and it won’t happen as often too!😁👍
