The generic replacement is thicker. After some time, if the thicker belt happens to 'walk' under the case reinforcement at the leading edge (2:38) it will jam, leaving a horrible burning rubber smell as the spindle continues to turn against its respective part of the belt, ruining same. Happened to me today.

How do you fix the buttons to pull the pole apart? I can’t take the head off cause the switch just bends rather than snap open. Thanks 😊

Mine will turn manually but not work on its own. The belt seems to be okay. I have a Wertheim 6o35. The power is going through but the booster is not turning on. Any advice welcomed.

Brilliant, just saved me a packet. Wife was ready to turf this machine and buy a new one but now all I need is a Rainbow brand rubber belt, and the bonus is I don't have to pay a local service technician some ridiculous amount of money for doing nothing. Cheers. Mick in Hobart

Hi just watched this video you mention the brush spinning to freely . Mine just makes a screaming noise and wont spin. would it still be the belt and if so do you sell these.

Alec, great video. We got this same powerhead here in North America on a couple of Dirt Devil canisters, & with a different hood on a wide range of canisters & central vac attachment sets. If I could just make a suggestion though, a even better belt to use for much longer life than the original generic Chinese belts would be the Kirby Generation 301291 upright belts for the Kirby Generation upright vacuums. These belts are "treaded" on the inside so they grip the motor spindle for a longer period of time without slippage. And interestingly enough, Dirt Devil actually uses a identical belt, only difference between the 2 belts is the lettering called the Royal Style 8 belt, which is used on the Royal Commercial metal uprights as well, just that the Kirby belt is much easier to locate & buy. I have that Dirt Devil powerhead & used the Kirby belt in it, & just last night had to change it after nearly 2 years of usage.

I have this same powerhead but the brushes have worn away. I did get new brushes and removed the old ones but can't get the news one back on. If possible do you or can you do a video on replacing the brushes on the brush roll?

Helpful video, but I hope that wasn't a customer's. You mislocated the brush dust seal at the drive belt end ;)
