How to FIX AC Smell in 2 Minutes Remove Car Air Conditioner AC Musty Mildew Odor

Occasionally car air conditioners will not only blow out cold air, but they will blow out a stagnant, musty smell as well. When the air conditioner is turned on it creates moisture which attracts bacteria, mold and odor. There are a couple of solutions to rid your air conditioner of unwanted stenches. If there is an odd, moldy smell that kicks in as soon as you turn your air conditioning on, you don't have to close your nose and bear it. More likely than not, you've built up some mold and mildew thanks to moisture in your AC system. This moisture occurs naturally, and is part of the car, but if left for too long it can create mold. As air pumps past the evaporator and into the car, it picks up mold spores, which feed on the moisture. Luckily, they are easy to clean, and your car will smell good as new. Aside from cleaning/replacing your cabin filter, turn on your AC on the HIGHEST HEAT setting to kill the odor causing bacteria.

The hot air worked but I made sure to change my air filter both of inside the car and in the a Engine 10/10 Works if u already replaced the filters and still smells I’ll recommend a order killer spray Hot air and window down in your car vents closed like he explained in the video for 5 min after the 5 min try to point the vents to the window make sure the windows are down and open the vents Set the hot air again for 5. Min just to throw out anything nasty in ur vents should work :)

Worked for me, ac smells better and I didn't have to spray any chemicals in the vents or intake.😓

the cabin filter should put away durring the process - if I want to heat for 5minut - to kill these bacterials?

I just did it for 15 minutes while driving around debating if I should buy two cans of those AC foam mildew remover. I’ll update tomorrow if it actually works. Lol

@@raphaeltuliao6621 No, it comes back when you use recycled air. It fixed it for a day by essentially killing some bacteria due to the heat but as you use recycled air again, bacteria grows and that fungus smell comes back. Lol. I was hoping it would work long term

Sir it will come back. What you need to do is. While driving 10mins before you reach destinations , Switch on fan , off Ac ofcourse. You need to do this every time to take your car. Instead of wasting money service center. Ac cleaning.

​@saravananparthasarathy6235 this is so true. Also turning recirculation off when your interior gets to a comfortable temp. The outside air helps dry out the moisture, just as turning off the ac and running only the fan as you mentioned. Only adding this to help others 🍻
