Great advice! Another solution for Honda Civics: just hold the audio power button until the message asking to “reboot” comes on the screen and click yes. The screen will go dark for a min or two and then take another min or two to restart. Solved my apple car play issue without having to do a complete factory reset (my issue was that it wouldn’t connect to my phone even though the cable was charging my phone). Hope this helps others.

Was so nervous that something was wrong with my car. Found this video and literally just solved my issue (my phone would be hooked up to the usb which was connected to my car and it would charge but not connect to Apple car play) I began to think either my phone or car was the issue but I tried this and it worked in literally less than 5 minutes and now my Apple car play works! DUDE! Absolute legend!! Finally after 3 months of just dealing without steering wheel controls, which quit working after I’d switched phones from 11 pro max to a 12 pro max. Thought my new phone wasn’t compatible anymore for some odd reason. A factory reset is all that fixed it. Thanks!

My 2019 Accord wouldn't recognize two iPhones. I called Honda Support and the rep walked me through a system reset. Very similar to this video, except I had to enter a code to enable the radio. The rep was able to give me the code, which I wrote down for the future.

@@aineseyquijas9520 I'd be happy to do that, but it was four years ago. I'm guessing the code is unique for each system as an anti-theft measure. The code should be in your operator's manual or Honda can provide that for you.

I was having issues with my CarPlay in my 2017 Honda Civic. Basically it froze on a “phone call” mode and didn’t let me do anything else not even use my CarPlay with my legit iPhone white cord. Yesenia Cruz no I am using a Walmart cable. Nope you don’t have to I just did it to test the back up camera to see if something else got fixed. But this will fix your apple CarPlay issues and android auto.

Mine is finally fixed..I had been using two aftermarket iPhone cords wjtb no issues for months..it got to where both of them worked hit or Miss and then eventually not at all…I had taken control board out the boards plug into and everything to inspect wjtb no luck….just now I was like fuxk it and cleaned the end of cord that goes into phone with some spit and elbow grease and it works now..only takes a tiny spec of dirt evidently fly..keep in mind the charger function was working but what tiny debris I couldn’t see was keeping CarPlay from working
