1/4 inch is the minimum length of sheathing required inside a box not the maximum.

Do not load off a plug unless GFCI ,because if you have a bad plug ,everything downstream of that plug will not work. Pig tail and isolate each individual plug. This makes troubleshooting easier.

Question: Why did you install the outlet horizontally rather than vertically?
@FixThisHouse
@FixThisHouse 2 жыл бұрын
Hi! You can install either way. I just did it horizontally because since it’s going to places inside a pantry , horizontal position will not interrupt or get in the way as much on the shelves being installed 👍🏽😊

Any reason why you didnt use a 20amp outlet?

If you ever need to renovate the pantry, you will have to remove the outlet. Wouldn’t it be better to install the outlet on to the wall instead of the pantry?
@FixThisHouse
@FixThisHouse 2 жыл бұрын
There are many ways to do this, this was cleaner in my opinion. If you ever change the pantry all you have to do is remove the cover and that’s it 👍🏽😊

You never stated why the junction box was sticking out so much inner walls are two and a half inches hollow space sufficient enough for a floating junction box or a regular box was there a piece of wood behind the box and you removed it if so you forgot to mention that other than that there will be no reason why a box should stick out so much

You jump around so much and edit so much I can't make out your wiring why not wire directly to the receptacle.

You are very confusing giving so many different ideas for this video. 🙄 Yikes!!! If you want a safe outlet box video, then just do that. If you want a video on drywall repair, then just do that. You are all over the place.

I find watching a real life fix better than a simple fix to demonstrate a topic. We DIYers work in the real world.
