Bought some TRD pro LED headlights for mi Tacoma sr5 23, would i have that problem?

Where did you purchase your headlights? I purchased mine from top gear auto sports they’ve been fine for the past year but now just the drivers side has hyper flash and they are plug and play. They function when hazards are on but when turning left they do not flash. Would you know how to fix this?

Do you still recommend getting the headlights and LED bulbs you use or just keep the stock LED bulbs but use those headlights you have?

Like the headlights truing on? If that’s your question there not supposed to come on or off. If your lights were originally on from the drive when you lock your truck it will turn then off

For Tacoma's...the truck uses "resistance" to determine if a bulb is out on the truck to warn you. The issues with LED's is that they draw far less power than the standard bulb which causes the truck to think a bulb is burned...thus the hyper flash. This resistance has a bit of a forgiveness layer that will allow you to avoid hyper flash up to a certain point. (may 2019 Tacoma worked fine until I added the license plate lights...then I got the hyper flash. As you mentioned though, most better quality LED's will actually come with resistors that will eliminate hyper flash but some don't. Or they will have a separate resistor part that you can install that will also eliminate the flash. (I used Diode Dynamics) Hope this helps...

@3zm4rtin hey man. So I’m a total newbie (especially with electrical stuff). But I just swapped out my tail lights on my 2020 Tacoma sr5. They were super cheap off eBay, and all I did was unplug my old bulbs and attach to the new taillights. When I use my blinkers I’m getting hyper flashing. So are you saying if I just buy some better quality led bulbs and replace the originals that should solve the problem? I also bought they sylvania hyper flash resistors but haven’t had a chance to install them yet

What would the license plate light have to do with it? I'm getting hyper flash after changing both headlights and tails. I also have LEDs on interior lights and License plate. The headlight I have are high end and supposed to not hyper flash. Thanks

I have same headlights as you and my driver side flasher wont work, and right side works most of the time but sometimes it goes out for a while and then works again, as soon as i put my hazard lights on all 4 of the flashers work fine everytime… could you share the link for the resistors that you spliced onto your sequential turn signals? Thanks!

I’ve done most all of the LED conversions, including the turn signals on my 2018. I must have bought the cheaper kind because it did the hyper flash. I ended up putting the bulbs that came with the truck back in. They also appear to be brighter than the LED’s I bought. I guess that’s what I get for going cheap. I guess I got the right head lights and fog lights because they work and look great
