I was about to return the controller because the R and ZR were doing the same function but thanks now it works perfectly smoothly without even opening it!

Wow the cardboard actually worked. My Zl kept spamming but it fixed it after literally a few swipes. It’s a third party controller so I’m not surprised but I just bought it literally yesterday

I'm shocked of how easy this thing is to fix. it seems like nintendo is thinking of repairmen in mind. after all, something easier for us to fix also makes it easier for them to fix.

thank you so much man.. i got this old pro controller lying around that i found yesterday which the R trigger button is unresponsive just jumped in method 1 and it now works perfectly

I tried to fix the ZL button mushy button but turns out someone spilled Pepsi or Malta and the metal part was sticky but I ended accidentally ripping the Ribbon that leads to ZL with that thing you have but my repair tool was pointy and sharp so I put everything back together and only ZL button has no Input so I just bought the Repair Parts for $6 instead of $9.75 and thats so easy to replace

Hey. Thank you so much for the tutorial. I made it all the way to the end and put it. Act together only to realize it wouldn’t post up. So had to take it apart again and found I didn’t get the rim first ribbon snapped in correctly. So now it powers up but the ZL button still doesn’t work. I ordered a replacement part on eBay. Thank you for the suggestion. I wanted to let you know I was able to take everything apart with a simple eye glasses repair kit I picked up at the check out line at my grocery store. Screw driver size works perfectly for all the screws and I used a pair of tweezers from my medicine cabinet to remove the pin. Thanks again!

@@labs824 thanks! After the eighth alcohol swab, I managed to fix the ZL. It had been stored in a drawer for many days, the winter here is very humid.

does this also work with the PowerA wired Nintendo switch controller? im having problems with my R button, AND my A button. because i discovered that i could use my controller to play minecraft on my chromebook. but the R button and the A button does not respond or work at all when i try changing the minecraft setting controlls and im not used to some of the controlls since they dont work

I absolutely LOVE the thorough breakdown, explanations, and timely execution of this tutorial. The views and angles were AMAZING! Literally, EVERYTHING! 🔥 The close visual attention to details like "slightly pull and push the rubber device on both sides until it's fully locked or latched flush in place" is EXCEPTIONAL at best. Another tip: I had a trigger start to feel loose. What had happened was it's worn out over time, and the plastic was dislodging the metal bar. All I had to do was take it out, and fit it back in snug, while leaving some exposed to remove it in the future if need be. I thought I was going to have to replace the entire trigger bracket / thought a piece of plastic broke.

hey none of the outside methods worked and i dont have a screwdriver to get inside my controller. the zl button is sorta stuck in an "always on" state. i've had this happen a couple times with my zr but just pressing it hard always seemed to work and this time it isn't. is there anything else i could try? i'm very emotional towards objects and don't want to get a new controller.

turns it was something with my computer i guess. i unplugged it and plugged it back in and now its working perfectly fine

Thanks for the video turns out there was a piece of plastic under zl button which blocked me from pressing it. Also was the reason why it was making weird noise when shaking

I've notice I use the same tool set as you in 5:43, I have to say that's a very cheap set with poor quality. The drivers head are very soft so it mass both heads and screws while you turn it. Also, it's too thick to reach certain screws which are deep in the pro controller.

Forgetting the Bluetooth device and reconnecting it works but the problem starts again after a little.
