For new Lenovo laptop bios. Check if after bios update the Intel VMD Controller is not set to: Enabled. It may cause problems with detecting your hard drive. Set it to Disabled, And check if Sata controller mode is set to AHCI.

Great video...!!! I watched several of your videos and nothing worked. Kept getting an HD error. I took my laptop computer apart and all seven of the eight screws were loose, hence the HD became dislodged. I took the opportunity to clean the fan. Then took a picture of the RAM and HD and then tightened all screws. Success👍🏿.

Sometimes BIOS just gets reset by an error, sudden power loss, etc. Usually no big deal unless it continues to happen. Then, consider replacing your CMOS battery. You can see how to access that part here; kzbin.info/www/bejne/bWesY3iZbrBqotk

Changing the settings in BIOS for Legacy vs UEFI was the step that solved your boot issue?

@@cocoacherios If BIOS is not retaining the correct settings, it could be a sign that your CMOS battery on the motherboard is dead. That is the component that is supposed to keep power to BIOS even when the computer is off. If its dead, your BIOS settings may be resetting when the computer turns off. I would replace it. If that fails and if changing the settings in BIOS didnt help your situation or you cannot manage to change them, move on to try the reinstall of Windows onto your Lenovo as seen here; kzbin.info/www/bejne/omSkh3qii7yIqas. You can create your own Install Media for free as seen here; kzbin.info/www/bejne/nZC4mZx-iMiUias. If you cant create your own, you may have to purchase it. So switching it to Legacy mode worked for me but does that mean that I can't boot into Windows 10 in uefi mode without pre-installing the operating system.

Have you tried reseating the HDD? It could have come lose in the fall.

If you cannot locate the options to switch between or if switching does not work, then skip that step and continue with the rest of the video :)

Thank you for this video.or some reason the issue was fixed once I unplugged my laptop from the charging cable. Seems like instead of booting directly to windows, it tries to find another option through the USB port. Is there any way I can turn this off?

Make sure that the HDD is selected to the first spot in the Boot Order in BIOS
