YES!!!! Thank you! This video saved me from thinking my mixer was a “gunner”.😅 I was just about ready to ship it to kitchenAid factory for a long long repair time. I have had this mixer about 30+ years without any repairs. But just loosening the screw- it lifted the mixer and made it study again. I never would’ve believed it if I didn’t do it myself. Thanks again! Happy baking grandma again. 😄

Hello & HUGE thank you. Making Christmas cookies, that set screw dropped out on the counter. When I attempt to put it back in, it looked the correct size, & yet it didn’t “seem” to be right. My problems was, I was using what I was told is an electrician screwdriver for the bolt-thingy & i was “Off-kilter”. I was miss threading the screw. I’m a very different type “girl” & it came to me I could actually take apart the mixer from the stand, take it off the stand & place it un-fettered on the counter where I could put the screw in straight. Then put the mixer back on the stand, put it back together, lay mixer on the side, back out the screw, slide the pin back into the stand & mixer then tighten the screw at the right angle. My skinny screwdriver was making me be off all around. Your excellent video showed me the way to do it myself. Thank you so much.

It's funny that I can tell how many people are using their mixers based on how many views and comments this video gets - there was a big spike right before Thanksgiving and now another one as people are making Christmas cookies! Glad you got it working!

Thanks! My wife does a ton of baking and this had been driving her nuts. I owe a shout-out to a channel called @MrMixer316 because I originally learned about this from a repair video on his channel: kzbin.info/door/t0zNTVlmikvKyP9v2GYVyQ

Thank you so very much for your video. I was honestly ready to throw my mixer in the bin!!! I too had no idea that the screw “shouldn’t” be tight. Thank you ❤

I just discovered the screw on the inside is missing! What size screw do I need?

Unfortunately I have no idea, but I'm guessing you can contact Kitchenaid support for a replacement part.
