How to Fix Orange or Yellow Light on PS5 Controller (Not Connecting)

I’d really like to know why my PlayStation 1 controller from 1997 still works and yet my ps5 controller that I brought 7 months ago is toast? A few months Into having it the headphone jack stopped working, then the up button and x button would occasionally just ignore that I was pressing them, then the last few weeks iv had stick drift on might right analog, and now finally I can only get my controller to flash orange and it won’t connect to the PlayStation. I’m sure these “new” controllers are just fancy looking ps4 controllers.

You absolutely can not drop a ps5 controller on the floor, even on the carpet. It's super sensitive. Almost every single person who's controller I fixed for many different things, but mostly drift at first denied dropping it but after it was fixed eventually admitted it fell of their lap or their dog knocked it off the bed or whatever. Even the smallest drop can freak out the electronics in the controller.. it really is an amazing controller but you have to baby it like no other controller ever made. I always suggest making some kind of safe box for the controller when you are not using it.

If you guys are having the problem where it blinks yellow or orange once click the ps5 button and the left arrow on the controller hope this helped and saved you some time ps keep trying it I thought the people where just lying about this it actually worked and saved me 60 bucks

What happened to me was that I changed the controller communication method to Bluetooth and then the controller turned off. After I tried to turn it on the blue light flashed and then turned back off. So all I did was turn off the console and turned back on and it’s charging and working like normal. Weird… Wondering if this has happened to anybody else.

Exactly the same for me, I can get mine to flash orange twice and that’s it. Iv done every step on the video and nothing, these PlayStation controllers are garbage I haven’t even had it 7 months yet. O and my headphone jack has been broken for at least 3 months as well, I also had on and off stick drift before my controller decided to stop working.

@4:34 was my eureka moment 😅. Just got a modded zone controller back from being fixed and couldn’t get it to sync with ps5 until trying those exact steps. Thank you. P.S. I don’t recommend MZ due to customer service issues.

Get a new USB make sure it's a sync and charge USB cable I spent 14$ on it cause I bought two new controllers and I was having that problem but make sure u press down and hold on middle and share button at the same time

My controller turns on fine, but the light goes from blue to off. All Buttons seem to work in the menu's except for O and when i start a game up, X does work to get me past the first start up menu. Thoughts? Its charged, I've rest the Console and controller numerous times.

@@zootyszn no i brought it to my friends he tested each button using a App he has on his PC, circle button did not work, took it apart and put it back together still didn't work. Some contacts weren't connecting the button to the pad. I'd Suggest buying a new one at Walmart, for $10 buy the extended warranty, in theory you could return the broken one, and you'd have 2 controller

I FIXED IT, ALL YOU NEED IS A NEW CHARGER CORD OR USE A SPARE ONE AND CONNECT THEM WITH THE CONSOLE AND CONTROLLER. Worked for me at least!!

Hey guys I really need help with my ps5 control. Was playing and suddenly no buttons was working except the joysticks! So restarted my ps5 console. And now my control doesn't want too work at all the ps button ,no response! . When put the USB cable in the controller too try too connect it a get a orange light that lasts for 1 sec then nothing happens. I've tried too reset the controller ,unplugged the console. Hey idk if you still havent fixed it but That just happened to me i kid you not i banged it on the ground (not crazy hard) and tried it started working i think it lost its connection to the battery or something inside the controller itself

My blue light won’t come on. When I go to the settings to dim the light or to make it bright it still doesn’t come on. When I charge it it ain’t even blinking orange but it’s still charging 🤔 and the blue light works because it comes on when playing ps4 games.

So I took my controller apart and use an alcohol prep to clean the analog component. And when I plugged the battery in it flashed orange 3 times and then turns off. All it does it flash orange 3 times when i push the Ps button

So my controller decided to stop working when i connected to my friend’s wifi (very weird). After a couple tries i got it to work again but everytime i tried connecting to his wifi my controller would stop working. It is currently working and charging now but i swear the blue light would always illuminate while playing a game? Currently it just shows a small white light above the PS logo when in use. Anyone else have this issue or was there never a light on depending on the game being played?

Excellent video man, thanks for explaining some of the hardware details too! I had an issue presenting in the same way that I've not yet resolved: The controller turns the Ps5 on via bluetooth and then disconnects, but also won't connect via cable. It works in safe mode, and when I restored the PS5 to default settings (not a factory reset), the controller worked for about 5 minutes... I tried this again but didn't connect my wifi (TP-Link), and the controller works perfectly! Seems to have stemmed from Monday 20-03-22 update that behaved slightly differently (rebuilding the PS database was the interface I briefly saw) My issue is now that I can't update my controller, because i couldn't & can't select the "update controller" button when the PS5 is connected to wifi.... Go figure haha... any tips on getting my dualsense to update without having to trigger it on the PS5?

Don’t have to follow the video. I had the same issue. Just go into ps5 settings and forget controller on Bluetooth. Then hold reset button on back of controller for 10-15 seconds. Then connect controller to ps5 using type c usb. Controller will be charging and press ps button to turn on. That’s it.

Remote play is why I had this problem. Its garbage. I even some how managed to always turn my friends ps4 on. hes in Florida. I was in Oregon. I swear on everything this happened even when I had primary. Fk remote play.
