I know this video is old, I have a fat ps3 160gb model and it kept freezing on me on occasion then it eventually died(red blinking lights), and I also got a ps3 slim that unfortunately started to freeze as well, my observation maybe is that's these are signs that the nec tokin caps are dying out. I might be wrong though.

I keep trying to play Midnight club LA but 5 seconds after the title screen and it completely freezes and doesn’t let me do anything so I have to shut off my ps3 with power button. @@benjaminramirez35 hey ! I managed to fix the issue! The only problem is that I actually had to disassemble the whole thing and basically do some maintenance, make sure you clean the fans and replace the thermal paste! After that the play ran without freezing and colder!

Mate, I did exactly as you explained and it did not worked, my issue is with God of War 3 and I believe maybe my ps3 (slim version) needs a thermal paste replacement, Idk but is very frustrating, and is just with that game, all other games plays with no problem so who knows.

So an update, I replace the old thermal paste for a new one, in fact I bought the best one on best buy, I even cleaned the lens of the disc drive and the results was worse, it recognize the disc but now it not even show the intro, it shows a black screen and the ps3 reject the disc automatically and is not the ps3 or the disc drive because I was playing GoW Ascension with no problem, so maybe I got a faulty disc, what a bad luck.

I have no issues on every other game except for this particular one which was Naruto Storm Generations. It was playing fine and no issues at all but only freezes on story mode the rest (Online, Survival and Versus) has no issues loading the game. I am planning to get the platinum trophy for this game so what I did is uninstall the game data and install it again then play story mode, It worked for one match but the next match freezes again I tried this method and the rebuild database it worked fine now thanks for the help!

Had the same problem but only with playing BO2, would only load until the loading screen and then it would freeze. Tried this method did not work at all. Would freeze around the same time of the loading screen. I tried it like 3-4 times thinking it could eventually work, it did not. So I tried something different. I attempted again with this method, followed all steps, this time before starting the game, I logged off online and disabled my internet connection. Started the game and it worked! Probably works only for campaign, LOCAL multiplayer and zombies mode. Won’t be able to play online games but glad I could at least play BO2 once again.

Well you need to get a ps to av or rca wire and use it instead of your hdmi....press and hold the power point until you hear a beep...if connected to the av you should start seeing the video output of the game....

​@@jayycarr08 no! Restoring file system doesn't delete anything, all your save files will be there. The trophies are on PSN servers (if you sync them) so nothing really deletes your trophies, they are connected to tour account and they'll be there forever even if you change console. I mean, if you have a PS5 your PS3 and PS4 trophies will be there too. Just don't forget to sync them after every gaming session.
