Now it tells about the UPDATE folder, but not about the PS4 folder. Sony doesn't miss any chance to fail me.

I LOVE YOUR VIDEO!!!! everyone else never mentioned the folders and their videos were over 10 minutes long. You got this fixed for me in the fastest time possible cutting out all the fluff. Thank you! In the end it got me past the code, but as I had worried the hard drive in the PS seems to be what is failing as it wont even get past a full reinstallation, so its basically bricked due to bad hard drive, its ok though at least I know I tried everything to save it :) new PS4 on order and will be in my hands tomorrow. (sucky part is losing all the game saves and progress on all the games I had... But not too mad at Sony for the faulty hardware, it lasted just over a year sure, but looking back at the history and having only ever had one single system (the one I was just trying to fix, my ps4) break down since 1994... Thats a pretty good track record... I still say Sony has the more reliable system considering that the Xboxes that I owned all broke down just over a year old every time I got one, so Im still a PS boy, one breakdown isnt enough to make me lose faith :)

I have done as instructed in your video. The Safe Mode screen now says that the update file cannot be used. I just downloaded it from PSN, so it should be the most recent...It says to have a version of 9.51 or later...which it is.

Why all of a sudden today does this happen? It wouldn't turn on with the controller, so I started it at the deck, then I got a msg to plug in controller at deck and push the ps button, and then I got this message. This is how it worked for me: My USB-Flash drive had to be renamed as well to USB only. So the whole folderpath has to go like this: USB, PS4, UPDATE. The UPDATE folder is the one where you paste the .PUP file into. I didn't have to rename the filename tho.
