U will need a usb drive, connect it to ur computer and go on the playstation website and download the file u need then connect it to ur ps4 then the safe mode should pop up or do what this video says

I just encountered this error this morning it is an absolute nightmare thank you for your video as I do not have a working laptop. I suspected I could reinstall without a USB drive but I wasn't sure and this video really helped put my mind at ease you do have to reinstall all of your games which is The Nightmare part but at least your PlayStation isn't a brick so there's a light at the end of the tunnel. I am still in the process of re-downloading my games so I'm not sure how I access my saved game data but I know everything has been backed up to the cloud so hopefully that will be automatic.

After spending multiple days trying to do this, I have finally been able to get it to work. IF YOUR READING THIS, I have worked out how to do this yes regardless you will loose all saved data, except all games saved to your cloud and progress (if you have psplus) , the downside you will need to download all your games again (chews your internet). Do not waste your time trying to update from USB and LAN, it does not work. Dont bother calling sony they will tell you it's busted and that's all. What I have figured out is DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE PRESS OPTION 7 IT WILL NOT ALLOW YOU TO ADD RELEVENT DRIVERS BACK TO THE PS4. Option 6 is the only thing that works. Hope this helps!

It's called blue light of death and I'm having the same problem and trying to fix rn as im typing and im not sure were ur at on your ps4 but u can go into safe mode and try to reupdate it and if that doesnt work change resolution and that might work for me personally I tried that and it worked but then my ps4 keped freezing and go back too the blue light of death every couple hours after repeating the process and then it said I cant turn it on unless I use a USB to reinstall update and now I'm stuck so ya but for u if you can still get into menu you can back up data from online storage and then reset your hole console and then log back in and redownload your data

I’ve done all of the options multiple times, including the final one, and it still won’t fix it. after I finally reinitialize it, it brings me to the home screen, but everything is slow and glitchy, and as soon as I boot up a game, it shuts down and forces me to do the whole reinitialization process all over again.
