I have a S9+. After accidentally got water damaged, the first thing that happened was the power button turned on and off uncontrollably, and then it stopped and the power button wasn't working at all . Now my phone is off (after battery depleted normally), I cannot turn it on even though I already charged the battery 100% full. My question is, is that because the motherboard damaged or just the power button? since the phone was working normally before I couldn't turn on my phone since the power button isn't working. any information and advice would really help. It actually looks like you put that chip in a slightly different motherboard then the one you took it out of.

You should check mother board, starting from the Screen connector.

Hi , Check whether the LED indicator or top is on or not, check whether the Vibrating is there or not , these two helps to check the board is booting or not. But anyway, highly recommend to tear down and disconnect the battery after the water damage.

@@CINOTechnology both the LED indicator and vibrate function are present. also the black screen shows normal charging percent when i charge it. does this mean the motherboard is not damaged? i havent taken it to the repair shop yet as im just a broke college student. hoping to fix it with the least amount as possible. thanks for replying :)

amagudgurl1000 same thing happened to me as well the only hope is to clean the mother board like in the video replacing such resistors and all is just not available in some countries..hope u recovered ur phone

My S9+ would overheat then suddenly turns off or restart on its own. I tried to hard reset it but it still does it. Then its wifi and bluetooth won't turn on. And even if it has a sim it does not show any signal. What could be the problem?

Maybe, but system crash also might lead to phone stuck on Logo, flash the phone instead of just factory rest.

Easy to understand this case in another angle: if you can power on your phone, replace a battery (or confirm your battery is good )and still dont power on, then you use a Tweezers to power on ( or just replace a new power button flex cable ) . Still dont power on, then I suppose the mother board is Broken.

Samsung note 9 Wont turn on. I brought to repair shop they said it’s because the phone overheated and “burned” the motherboard, is this true? I don’t use my phone much, only for mobile hotspot, so I don’t know why the motherboard would break. ;(

I dont really suggest to use mobile phone as WIFI hotspot, after sometime using a hotspot, I got some kind of negative impact on the phone itself. So I also believe that may damage the phone.

I switched on maximum battery saver mode and charge the phone for an overnight. In the morning discharge it. And used 5 minutes. Charge percentage was 98. Way way to technical for me! I have that exact purple s9plus that has the black screen of death. I have no idea why this happened. The looks and is like brand new even though its only a year old. Pathetic. Through my research its apparent these phones have the issue of the black screen of death. Samsung needs to repair this issue. Its B.S. this happens when they charge so much for the phone!! They lost a customer. Never ever will I buy a Samsung phone again. I have tried everything to get the phone to turn on. Nothing has worked. Total garbage!
